I purchased this product for a vintage furniture refinishing job (circa 1930). The job was a blanket chest that was wrapped with a piece of 3/4" egg and dart moulding at the base. I was stripping the piece back to bare wood and I knew that the detail in the moulding would make it difficult to get it to clean up (see photo). My thought was to replace it with the Home Depot "house of fara" moulding and stain it to match. I special ordered the piece through the HD website sight unseen. Unfortunately when the piece arrived I found the quality too low to use on a piece of furniture. The face of the "eggs" on the moulding had a lot of chip-out and the surface was quite rough. I tried staining a small sample and my fears were confirmed. The rough surface of the moulding caught too much stain and further exaggerated the flaws. I ended up spending the time cleaning up the original moulding the furniture came with and reusing it. In short this product is of low quality and suitable for paint only....not for stain/clears. The detail of the moulding is poor and not well surface finished
