I have some nonfunctioning garage doors that I'd like to cover up - make them look like carriage doors. Can these panels be used for exterior use?

Answer:
They're pine and relatively thin wood, so I'd say "No"... Pine is a soft wood, and in my experience it warps easier than other types of wood (We had a 2 x 4 deck in pine that warped pretty badly, even with bi-annual coats of exterior varnish).

Including the baseboard, paneling, and chair rail, what is the total height? I need a total of 37" and I've been unsure how to accomplish this aside from either cutting paneling down to an acceptable size with 3" base boards and 2" chair rails. If this assembly comes as one unit (8ft long) then I'll need to buy these pieces separately and adjust to my particular application.

Answer:
Baseboard is 3" high, with a 1/2" inset for the wainscoting. Wainscoting is 32" high. Chair rail is 2.5" high, also with a 1/2" inset for the wainscoting... So, overall it's 36.5" in height.
Hope this helps.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy with the finished product... Finished product is beautiful, and install is pretty simple, but I ain't gonna lie... it's tedious (especially staining the 160+ pieces required for our home office). Recommendation... BUY A BRAD NAILER (Nail Gun)! Thank goodness I already had one. Can't imagine this install manually, using finishing nails and a hammer! June 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install Just measure and cut the bottom and top rails to size. Install bottom rail, then place T&G slats in place. Then install top rail. Did bathroom in 3 hours. Looks great with just a couple of coats of poly on it. May 5, 2015
