Hi Susan. Here are the instructions for setting the pole into the ground.

2. Dig hole 8 inches to 12 inches in diameter and 20 inches deep. Taper hole larger at bottom. Fill bottom of hole with small rocks approximately 3 inches deep.
3. Pour about 6 inches of concrete into the hole.
4. Position the ground sleeve as shown and pour concrete around the outside until flush with the top of the ground sleeve (or 1-1 1/2 inch below top if in a lawn.) This will allow filling top layer with soil and planting.
5. Insert the pole into the ground sleeve and use a level to align the pole vertically. Carefully remove the pole, without moving the ground sleeve.
6. Immediately run a small tube or stick down the center of the sleeve through the concrete until it reaches the crushed rock base. Remove tube or stick. This will allow any water to drain.

Answer:
Hi siamese,
The 3000 has an aluminum upper structure; the 4000 has a steel upper structure. So it's a question of your material preference. Both are rust-resistant. The aluminum is lighter weight.

Answer:
i put it in 10 inches of quickrete. there's a sleve that the pole sits in which allows it to turn. it also let's it lean a litttle. the turning lets you stand in one place and turn it and place the clothes on it. i have no knees to it makes hanging clothes easier. i also live in the highest point in s.e. michigan-lots of wind. i've had the dryer for about 5 years. no complaints.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by parallel Dryer 2 piece pole quality parts, kind of expensive but you get what you paid for April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really good dryer design The parallel aluminum dryer is of a very sturdy, strong design. Minimal set-up involved. Lines easy to tighten, just have to work them from one end, back-n-forth till you get to a knot. The unit will spin, but you can easily drill a hole and put a bolt through it to prevent that. Several neighbors came over to query and compliment this unit over their cheesy upside-down umbrella types. One nice advantage of this design is that the parallel lines go completely from one side to the other... uninterrupted, which is a huge benefit for hanging larger items and also allows for better air flow than having things hanging at right angles to each other. Only negative with the experience was the shipping box was pretty beat up and ripped. Fortunately, the dryer itself was unharmed. March 1, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Reel clothes line Why would you use line that stretches so bad. Every time we use it we have to tightenen the lines. Change your line to the green stuff. January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best most money saving purchase I have used this everyday and sometimes twice a day and I love it. I have been watching my power bill and I have saved 30-40 dollars a month using this clothes line. the lines are strong enough to hold wet jeans and wet towels along with the rest of the laundry.
