Immediately run a stick or tube through the sleeve and concrete to the rock base below to allow water to drain. Insert the lower vertical pole of the dryer into the sleeve, then use a level to align the pole vertically. Remove pole and allow concrete to set fully, then install your dryer. Read Less

Hi Doug, Only if you don't duck. In seriousness, though, the dryer is 6 feet tall before it's installed. We recommend installing it at least a foot into the ground to keep it really stable (15 inches is better), which would make the lines closer to 5 feet from the ground. We are looking into making an extender for our posts, but we don't have one yet. In the meantime, you might find other dryers more comfortable to use. The t-post systems (#FT-30 and #T-2050) are 7 and 7.5 feet high uninstalled (you'll need to buy two of each to set up a freestanding clothesline). And the 15-7 is a retractable, wall-mount dryer that you can attach at whatever height you'd like. Read Less

Answer:
As a fellow shorterperson, I understand the trouble. We recommend digging a deeper hole rather than cutting the pipe to lower the height of the lines. But, if that's not an option, you'll have to use a tool that can cut through steel. And do so VERY CAREFULLY. I'm hoping Home Depot can answer which tool for you! Good luck!

Answer:
The military discount is for active and retired military. Just bring your military ID card to the register and they deduct it. I'm sorry, I don't know about online.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 50 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Came with broken part I received the product in a damaged and taped up box and although I know that should not count as taking a star away there was also a broken plastic pin used to limit one of the crossbars when open. The product seems to be sturdy and well built but why do they use small plastic pieces to hold an important part together. I noticed in the reviews someone else had one of these broken plastic pins also so I guess I will have to take the other reviewers "fix" and do the same. July 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Parallel Dryer Steel 2-Piece Pole, 30-Line 210 ft. Drying Space I'm overall pleased with the clothes line's performance. We previous had clothes line poles that the lines were attached to our house. We resided our house and did not want to put clothes line hooks into the new siding. July 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's up and ready for laundry. It was easy to install, and it looks good. There are a few lines we will need to tighten, but otherwise, we are very pleased. July 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good replacement for a very old dryer My old outdoor dryer had become an eyesore, as all the metal parts had rusted and some lines were broken. I was happy to find this replacement online. It arrived promptly and my husband was able to retrofit it into the existing concrete pad. He had to cut down the height by about 6 to 8 inches, but that was no problem. Better to have it too high than too low. My only issue with this product is that the lines are just made of plastic with no inner core so they will stretch out over time. We already had to pull the lines tighter and tie off the excess. I expect to get a lot of use from this product. I love to hang sheets and some clothing out to dry in fresh air. Maybe it will pay for itself over a couple years. September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I wanted I have only had this clothesline a couple of weeks, but so far it is just what I was looking for. My old one finally fell completely apart and was happy to find this one at a very reasonable price. It was easy to put up, especially since I already had the hole in the ground, is taller, and the lines are longer than my previous one. Haven't tried sheets yet, but I am sure they will fit better than on the old line. The lines are always to close together for me, but I just skip one or two depending on how much room I need. Overall, it seems to be very sturdy and a good purchase. July 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy and spacious I have purchased several umbrella-style clotheslines over the years, but I have never been completely happy with them. They either bend or break too easily or don't hold enough clothes. This parallel dryer is made of heavier material and is much more sturdy than anything I have purchased previously. It is also much taller, so some of my longer items (sheets, extra-large bath towels, etc.) don't drag on the ground. And the price was even less than other cheaper versions at other stores. Loving it so far! August 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far no complaints. Is sturdy enough for my use. Assembly was easy. After the concrete in the ground to secure holder, the entire clothes hanger fit right in. I have been using it ever since. I am happy with my purchase. I chose this steel product rather than the aluminum to avoid having the whole thing collapse.... September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Parallel outdoor clothes dryer I purchased this clothes line to replace one that was similar. I was happy to see that the mechanism which holds the line open is much sturdier than my former model. The entire product has improved features. The item was ordered and arrived as scheduled. I am pleased so far, and would recommend this clothesline. Even though I live in the northeast, I am a huge fan of drying clothes outdoors as much as possible!! September 10, 2015
