Customer Questions & Answers

does this cloths line have a base and how do you install it
Asked by: auntie
need to dig a hole. Very good instruction and includes a sleeve so you can remove the pole, cap it and mow over it. Will need some pea gravel and a bag 60 lbs bag of quick drying cement.

Are there replacement parts if a part gets damaged?

Are there replacement parts if a part gets damaged?
Asked by: lwbuchholz
Hi lwbuchholz. We have replacement ground sleeves available (handy if you move or want to relocate the dryer!), but we do not presently stock other parts. Clothesline can be purchased at The Home Depot off the spool so you can get just what you need (about 215 feet to restring). If your dryer were to have a manufacturing defect--not normal wear and tear or acts of weather, i.e., it gets hit by a branch during a storm--just give us a call at Household Essentials at 1-800-922-5524. Have your proof of purchase handy and we can get you a replacement under the product's 1 year manufacturer's warranty.

Over time the lines will wear out will I be able to replace them ?

Over time the lines will wear out will I be able to replace them ?
Asked by: mel
HI mel. Yes, you can use almost any kind of line to restring your dryer as needed. I like to buy the clothesline off the reel--usually available at hardware stores. That allows me to get the length I need without having to tie clothesline together to make it long enough. For this dryer at 210 feet of drying space (line available to hang clothes), I'd recommend about 215 feet of clothesline. The extra 5 feet should be more than enough to cover the wrapping and tying off. Hope that helps!

Customer Reviews

Parallel Dryer Steel 2-Piece Pole, 30-Line 210 ft. Drying Space is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptionally pleased with this dryer Since I've had a couple of these kinds of dryers before that were flattened by the neighbor's falling tree branches, I've gotten to know outdoor dryers. (Yes, I've moved this one to another location to avoid branches.) As for the product, it's great--well-constructed, easy to install, good spacing between lines, easy to tighten the lines, lines haven't started sagging requiring constant adjustment as has happened with other outdoor dryers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product. Easy to assemble. The quality of line could have been better but I did not expect top quality line to come on it.Will probably replace soon. This line is sticky any lint or hair on laundry sticks to it and doesn't want to come off.The frame is pretty good.It is a little lopsided after a few weeks of use but I am giving it a major workout. We are an extended family of 9 including 4 children 8 and under. So it gets used heavily! I haven't managed to destroy it yet hanging apr. 4 loads on it including heavy towels everyday it doesn't rain.I like the fact the lines are parallel so I don't have to get the laundry on there exactly even as you would an umbrella clothesline. So all in all a good sturdy product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice design with some flaws There are two plastic "pin" that are suppose to limit the cross bars when open. I needed to replace the with 2" 8x32 screws and put a nut on both sides to keep the beams in place. Thought about returning the item, but this mades it work again. These were replaced by the third usage and it is being used for just one person's laundry. Also the lines can get stuck in the hooks one the cross bars. Need to be sure lines are not tangled while putting it up! The first time I used it I was recommending it to everyone. Now unless they are handy and want to pay for something they will need to modify, I do not recommend. I disagree with the reviews that indicated there were flimsy lines, not the case on mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Very easy to set up. We had one that we had bought at a Home Depot store made out of aluminum. Loaded with clothes the pole bent over and broke. This one is made out of steel and my wife likes the flat way the lines stretch out. It locks in place very easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what we were looking for. My mom had been using a clothes line for 40 plus years that got destroyed by a home remodel crew. I went on the hunt for one just like her original and yours was the one! It's perfect and was so easy to install. She's happily hanging her sheets once again! Thank you!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not bad, but not great The ropes WILL need to be tightened, but that's a given, probably even replaced with something sturdier. The boot in the groung the main pole fits into isn't' tight enough to keep the unit from swaying, probably because it was made to spin, which I think is a totally useless option. 2 pairs of jeans hung on one side makes it lean. So we'll use tape to take up the slack. You'll definitely want to use concrete to seat the a pipe to hold the boot. I'm not convinced we'll get 30 years out of it like the one it replaced, but everything made today is designed to be disposible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best one I've ever had Have had several "umbrella" clotheslines- This is very sturdy built and the "line" on this is coated so clothes don't slip to the middle of the line

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase The construction of this clothesline is very sturdy both in the framing and pole. Very easy to assemble and mount outdoors. Would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in owning an outdoor clothesline. The only downside is how easily the line stretches with the weight of the clothes hung. The line is easily tightened though, thus I do still think it is the best product compared to others I contemplated. You won't regret your purchase.
