Customer Questions & Answers

what is the diameter of the pole?

Asked by: goldengrrl
There are 2 different answers for the diameter of the pole. To clarify is the 2 inch diameter the pole umbrella and the 1.5 diameter of the cemented in ground pole? In that case this umbrella pole would fit over my pole from another umbrella type dryer. I have had no success buying the on in stock in HD or in Lowes. Had to take both back

What is the height above ground of the top line?

What is the height above ground of the top line?
Asked by: Dhobyman
Hi Dhobyman. After it's installed, the top line should be 72 inches--6 feet--above the ground.

Lawn mowing

When the umbrella is out of the base and stored is the base in the ground flush with ground? Can I mow over the spot without hitting anything?
Asked by: Curious
Hi Curious. You control how the ground sleeve is positioned when you install the dryer, so the sleeve will be flush with the ground if you install it that way! I recommend that you do as it will make mowing easier.

can this dryer be cemented into the ground?

Asked by: thetoothfairy32
Hi Thetoothfairy32, Yes, the dryer can (and should) be cemented into the ground. You'll want a hole about 20 inches deep (you can modify this depth to adjust the height of the lines) and 8-12 inches wide, filled with 3 inches of rock to allow for draining. As you know, make sure the lower pole is vertical and the cement is set before you install the upper structure!

Customer Reviews

Umbrella Dryer Aluminum 2-Piece Pole, 12-Line 192 ft. Drying Space is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the whole concept. Pros- Product is simple and straight forward. Pin your clothes on and they dry. :) It is very light weight. Cons: You do have to dig an 18" whole in the ground and anchor the plastic holding sleeve with concrete. But how else do you expect a clothes line to stand up? Only other trouble I have had is minor...the button/pin that catches on the desired height scale sometimes needs some physical force to convince it to go in, and likewise when I try to release the button, it is stubborn. I hope that both of these issues will work out as I use the line more and get it broken in. All in all, I really am very happy to own this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UMBRELLA DRYING SPACE Had two (2) of these clothes line for 4 years and lost one (1) to bad weather. I still have the second one but it to has taken beaten from the elements and my boys. It has served its purpose and I will never go back to the old fashion 3-line clothes line ever again that consumes the yard. This clothes line is easy to assemble and can be used within minutes. I've hung 2 full loads of clothes on it at once and cannot be happier with the product. I had to settle for a smaller and cheaper model which doesn't allow for to many clothes except for my kids when the store didn't have this big one in stock. Besides saving tons of money on electric it also helps kill bacteria left on clothes (with the suns rays) when clothes are hang dried. I just totally love this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I bought this Super easy to set up. Took my husband less than an hour...most of that was hole digging time. Used a 50 lb. bag of Quick-crete. Couldn't quite dig the hole 18" but at 16" it works fine. Have it set up behind a big rose bush...nobody needs to be driving by and seeing our undies :) I must have missed the fact that it spins but that's pretty cool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Misleading Although the product appears to be well made, I ordered it for king size sheets. The dimensions listed were 83 x 110 x 110. King size sheets are 108 x 102. Guess what? This opens up 83" square, 110" on diagonal, and 110" possible height.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sun Dried Clothes I would recommend this clothes dryer, except I would suggest a deeper cup to hold the dryer in place. When we hang a load of clothes on the line, the wind catches it and it becomes wobbly at the base. Otherwise, its a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well The installation directions were missing from the box, but I found them on the Household Essentials website. I like the height of this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Dryer It takes some sweat and a posthole digger to construct the concrete base, but after that the setup is easy. The laundry gets dry in the sunshine and has that nice fresh-air odor afterwards. The dryer is light enough to take into the garage between uses, but there are covers available online that will keep the folded unit clean if left outdoors all the time.
