Answer:
GG: Typically they are placed anywhere from 2-5 feet from the ground depending upon the table or surface areas available. The ultrasonic humidifier produces a very fine mist that will cover approximately 200 sq. ft. Please call us at 888-880-3267 if you have any further questions. Thank you for the inquiry!

1.2-gal. Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks all over Poor design! If you bump it slightly or need to move it even the slightest it pours water all over the place! Had to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, Low Sound Humidifier The water reservoir tank is easily removed for filling the humidifier with water. It holds a little more than a gallon of water. This humidifier is very basic and easy to operate. It is ultrasonic with the mist lasting about 12 hours, so you can run it in your bedroom all night long. The knob turns it off and on. The mist volume control is also on the knob. There is a slight hum noise while it is operating but it is not very loud at all. The humidifier weighs under 3 pounds and has a 1-year limited warranty. I give it a 5-star rating because it makes my sinuses happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Little Machine! Living with forced air heat and suffering with sinus problems a humidifier is one of those household items that is used quite a bit. Hunter has come up with this nice little machine and it suits the need, although the shape is a little odd. You do have to be careful once the water tank is filled about seating it correctly back in to the base. Also, placement due to the need of keeping the bottom air vent clear as well and the surface being water proof may be a little challenging. I like that you can adjust the humidity level and that an indicator light lets you know at a glance if you are out of water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good humidifier OK, so it isn't the most attractive humidifier on the block. Kind of looks like an egg actually. Once you take the top off, you then have to flip it upside down to fill the top with water. Nice theory, but does make it cumbersome to try and tighten the water cover back on. It doesn't screw on straight all the time, so you really have to pay attention as you tighten it. Once you get the now heavy top filled with water, you have to try and get it to fit just right on the water well to function properly. But I must say it does work once it's all together. I had to start on a low setting and adjust accordingly to the room size so I didn't saturated everything. I recommend running about 30% target. At about 50% house dust mites thrive and you run in to a problem with mold and mildew at anything above 70%. Mostly use it at night in the bedroom and can go about 2 days on a tank of water. This runs a little over 17 hours on a full tank and will cut off automatically when the tank is dry. Which is a big plus in my book. I use filtered water from the fridge or distilled water, when I can find it on sale, to keep the lime build up ( white powdery looking stuff) you get from tap water to a minimum..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Full featured humidifier but not too stylish Small footprint, automatic shutoff when empty, very energy efficient versus the archaic water heated steam alternatives, and a excellent price point. This is a sorely needed item especially during winter months when air is almost always way too dry which is just as unhealthy as overly humid conditions. This Hunter branded ultrasonic humidifier is easy to refill but more importantly completely silent when in use. Only negative thing I can mention is not to leave it on furniture which might easily water stain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fine until it stopped working properly Worked fine for about 2 months until it started making a noise like an airplane getting ready to take off. It still pumps out mist, but it is useless due to the horrible sound it makes. I swear that I end up returning more products than I keep these days. Manufacturing quality is really in the dumps. "You get what you pay for" isn't even a safe axiom any more, not that this was an expensive product. At least Depot is quite good about returns/exchanges.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Small Leaks Everywhere After only two weeks the unit formed small leaks from the top where the seams are supposed to meet. Some of the leaks are in vapor form, which aren't too bad, but the leaks above the water indicator are dripping and forming a puddle under the unit. I will return to the site and purchase another brand. On an upside... it is quiet and is easy to use. It's disappointing it leaks - we got what we paid for, I guess.
