Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does exactly what it is supposed to As downrods go - this one is excellent - matches the fan and happy with the purchase. May 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great fit. Was not a direct fit to the Hampton Bay Ceiling fans which I purchased from the store. I had to take the hardware off the short downrod from Hampton Bay (which is standard practice) and place it on this downrod but the ground wire lead screw size was different. Had to go back to the store to purchase #8-32 x 1/2 in Stainless Machine screws to place the ground wire to this pipe. But I also found that the metal dowel, which is supposed to support the weight of the fan, did not fit flush with the plastic end piece as it did on the Hampton Bay downrod. Instead the metal dowel was recessed into the plastic piece due to the location of the holes for the metal dowel. On top of this the holes for the ground wire and the "set" screw did not line up correctly and I had to modify the plastic piece to make it work. In short the metal dowel is not supporting the weight of the fan, the single #8-12 screw is. It looks good and appears sturdy but I have serious doubts it will last given there is but a single screw keeping it tight. Once it fails it will fall about an 1/8" to the metal dowel (remember it wasn't flush) which will hold it but will be loose and likely have a small wobble. Perhaps its morbid curiosity but I left it up anyway, maybe just to see if I'm wrong. Or maybe I'm just that stupid. I put up two of them! P.S. If the store had them, I would have returned the generic and picked up a Hampton Bay brand at the time I went to pick up the screws. February 29, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking downrod I used this when installing a Hampton bay 44 inch ceiling fan. It would have been nice to have some installation instructions included with the downrod. Did not need a threaded end but it was compatible and I was able to use it with Hampton bay fan. Looks very nice with fan. June 14, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing to figure out. It just worked This rod substitues the short one that comes with Hunter ceiling fans. Just change for the one in the box and install. September 16, 2014
