Answer:
This is a dimmer! Most CFL's are not dimmable and those that are have to be "burned-in" for 100 continuous hours; read directions with bulbs. Some LED's are dimmable, again read directions with bulbs.
Halogen or xenon bulbs need to say dimmable.

Answer:
I used the bulbs that came with the Hunter Fan - my fan had 3 different light choices 1 bulb, 2 bulbs, or 4 bulbs so that coincided with the dimmer. I didn't notice what "type" of light bulb.

Answer:
A "2 switch light" is composed of two "three-way switches" and controls a single device like a light OR power to a fan.
From this device you need separate wires/conductors to ceiling fan for fan and light and of course neutral/return

Answer:
Hi Elliesdad! You can use both switches if where you have the dual-slide control, you have 2 power wires - one for the fan and one for the light. If you leave the power off from the simple "on" and "off switch", you will not be able to control the fan from the dual-slide control. *Unless the "on" and "off" switch is wired to the light side of the slider switch

I've never seen the levers, and I have looked. I disassembled my last switch that broke, it doesn't look like it is a serviceable unit. I recommend purchasing a new switch.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.5 out of 5 by 61 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lacks durability I have replaced this switch in our master bedroom twice (on the third one now). If i didn't want to match the other bedrooms in the home, I would switch to a different type of fan/light switch. It works great, looks good, easy to use. But the plastic sliders fail over time. They should be made of a more durable material (perhaps metal with a plastic overlay finish). Eventually, the slider will begin to separate, then break off completely, rendering the switch unusable. Luckily, HD stocks them and they are easy to replace. We are average users, and are not rough on the switch. 3 years is the maximum life for this switch. July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Location of ground connection The location of grounding rivet and connector prevented installation in 4" plastic box. Even rotation of lug still didn't allow control assembly to sit straight in single gang box. Guess I'll try to gouge slot for ground lug. The enclosed mounting screws were slotted and slots were not cut deep enough to keep screwdriver in slot to cut threads in plastic box. Exchanged for Phillips screws from toggle switch. Minor adjustments would have boosted "Ease of installation" rating. July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't like Not what I thought I was buying.......We have 2 Hunter fan remotes and this is not what I thought it was...... I would have to remove my whole electrical box and install this.....Why??????? July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Swing arm lamps The swing arm lamps was very easy to install and they give the room a very elegant look. And the swing arms are very convenient. February 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as well as I expected The switch as well as I expected of an item from Home Depot June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk The switch knobs will break off eventually. Mine broke after 3 years. Do not buy this one. June 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value Easily coordinated with the Hunter Fan I purchased. May 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor switch i bought 3 of these 2 years ago, last week my bedroom switch broke, the stem that holds the "knob" on broke off, i had to use a plastic knife to turn the light on/off until i bought a different brand now 3 weeks later my kids bedroom switch broke the same way.. i replaced this with a lutron Skylark 1.5 Amp Single-Pole 3-Speed Combination Fan and Light Control Model # S2-LFSQH-WH my electrician friend says "hunter makes fans, lutron makes switches" April 7, 2015
