Thanks for the inquiry regarding model 55048. A 3 1/2 inch down rod will come with the unit. If longer down rod is required for installation Hunter does manufacture extended accessory down rods carried at your local retailer. Thanks for choosing Hunter.

This fan is heavy. When I replaced a 48" I added two additional lag screws through the jbox into the ceiling joist for safety. If I were to guess at a poundage, I might say it should hold 75lbs, just to be on the safe side. My jbox was secured directly to a ceiling joist and not to a typical fan 'hanger' that spans between 2 joists.

Answer: 
I believe the fan instructions recommend an approximate height of 7 feet to bottom of fan blades. But it also cautions against mounting it too high, as airflow would be diminished.

Hello! The Brayden model 55048 can be installed without the light kit and has a height of 11.46” from the ceiling to the bottom of the fan blade for standard mounting. This fan can be mounted on a 10’ ceiling. Thank you!
