Needed 3 fans for our bedrooms with bronze finish and no remotes as our home is wired with separate switches. Everything assembled easily. All parts were complete and serviceable. I found it much easier if I assemble everything on fan before hanging. Complaint of dim light valid but I used 60W daylite LEDs and light output much better. Suggest vendor change to non-tinted but frosted light globe.

I am very pleased with this fan. It is well constructed and runs quietly. I was trying to match it to another fan I had previously purchased. I only wish that options on the type of glass were offered.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Disappointed in non-working pullchain
I am very disappointed in this Hunter fan because of the pull chain that has only been touched perhaps twice, and very gingerly at the most, is already broken. I purchased this fan 13 months ago and it was installed in a downstairs room that is unused most times. I had a guest stay and went to go turn on the light for them and it just pulled and did nothing. It did not engage and I could not believe it.
As a low income single mother who does not have money to continue to replace things like this every 12 to 13 months, nor keep paying overzealous "handymen" to install them, I am at a loss for this poorly working fan. Very disappointed as I am a loyal and firm believer in Hunter fans.
As I always said when others were shopping for fans, "Be sure you get a Hunter. Hunters are for blow, the other fans are for show." Well I guess Hunter fans are NOT for illumination. I purchased my fans within weeks of the other poster who had the same problem with the pull chain not engaging. Could it have been common to that model perhaps? Now I need to figure out how I am going to afford to get another one because I am sure it will be more bother and cost than a repair.

The fan was easy enough to install and looks great. However, the part where the fan blades attach get really really hot. The day we installed the fan it started putting of an oily smell. I figured it was just from the fan. Then, we noticed it was an oily burning smell. That is when we discovered the motor area was way to hot. No wiring issues from installation and the lights were not on to cause the heat (we use LED anyway, not very hot). Leaving only the light on does not cause any heat issues. Having the fan on for about 30 minutes or more (lights on and off) causes major heat. An older Hunter fan we leave running literally 24/7 is cool to the touch. I am not sure why this brand new fan is getting so hot. We are not too happy about this, mostly cause it looks so good in out kitchen.

We purchased this fan as a replacement for our living room area. i was concerned about balancing the value, quality, and appearance. I have to say I have been pleased on all fronts. The wife loves the look and good air flow the fan generates. We installed with the light kit which now adds much needed overhead lighting to the living room (original builder install did not have one). The only down side which is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the somewhat burdensome installation (overall was still good, just could have been a little clearer instructions), and the fact that the light globe that came was cracked. After a quick call to Hunter, they have shipped a replacement at no charge and no fuss, so still great customer service.

Putting the fan parts together was fairly easy; assembling the fan blades took far more time than anticipated.
Installed the fan, connected all wires exactly like the enclosed instructions directed, then turned on the fan. It worked, but the lights did not come on. Inspected the wiring and the switch element and found that the necessary factory installed connection for the lights had not been completed.
I considered returning the fan as "defective" then chose to use a small wire nut to make the missing connection for the lights. It worked and the lights came on.
Getting the fan and lights to work was very frustrating and required more work on my part than anticipated. Suggest Hunter Fans check on their factory Quality Control procedures.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jrzturtl Hunter quality - still!
The fan was well packaged and arrived without damage, always a good way to start. Having assembled and installed quite a few ceiling fans over the years, I didn't really follow the instructions but they seem to be fairly clear. The mounting system is well designed and easy to work with. NOTE: make sure to properly support the fan by using a UL listed 'fan support box'. We chose the Hunter based on prior good experience. This fan was made in China but it did not disappoint. The fan runs very quietly and while they do supply some balancing accessories, we didn't need them. My only complaint is that the light will only take (2) 60W candelabra-base lamps so it's not as bright as we would prefer (this fan's in a kitchen). We considered, but did not buy the Hunter remote control, based on numerous poor reviews. This is an extra item that must be purchased separately. We bought a higher-rated Westinghouse remote instead and it seems to work well.

When I got this fan and opened it up the blades only came in walnut color. It says they come in cherry and walnut but not these. Instructions are a little hard to follow but manageable. I took this fan back because of the light. I installed the fan flipped the switch to turn on the light and it is very dark. If you want light DO NOT get this fan. Hunter fans: News flash. Get lighter light shades or put brighter bulbs in it. Not all of us can see in the dark.
