It has been a good ten years from my last fan install but back then I installed lots of fans and I had one rule... Only buy Hunter as the install was always easiest. After installing this fan I no longer will follow my own rule. I understand Hunter has fans marketed as faster 5-min fans, this is not one of those fans.
The 1st thing I noticed when purchasing this fan is how small the box is, that should have told me that this fan required lots of assembly. As example, all my fans of the past the metal arms were factory attached to the fan blade so all was required was attaching the blades to the motor with 3 screws via the metal arm. This fan required me to insert three rubber grommets in each of the five blades then attach each fan blade to the metal arm and then attach the metal arm to the motor and that was after I was required to remove the 10 screws holding shipping blocks on the motor. I found attaching the blades as per instruction after the fan was hung was unnerving as my decking on my porch will eat a screw if dropped. When attaching the blades after hanging it is almost impossible not to drop a screw so be aware of this if you have a floor ( decking with space between the boards) that will eat a dropped screw like my floor does.
I only assume this fan is in so many parts to save container space / packaging / labor and attempt to make the shipping box as small as possible. I was left feeling my time was of no value with the design of this fan as it took a long time to put this fan together.
The fan looks good, absolutely silent and balanced well, The fan does include a balancing kit so no excuse for a shaking fan I guess; I was not required to use the balancing kit as my fan does not shake out of the box but I have if if ever a problem.
The included chain is what I consider short so if you have a higher than normal ceiling you may need more chain and possibly a longer pipe all available at Home Depot.
The air flow could be a bit better but I know this as I compared specs before my purchases but will work for my needs. My #1 deciding factor was the look and I am happy with that! I also based my buying decision on the fact this fan is rated for "WET" locations, NOTE, some fans are rated for damp locations not wet. The Hunter quality of the past and the price point.
I am in a costal environment so I needed a dark fan as to not show any rust that may develop.
After all was said and done I can say I am happy with my fan as the look is fantastic but make sure you have some time to install this fan as it is not a quick hang.

This fan is really attractive and great quality. It was easy to install and once I was finished, I didn't have to do anything to balance the blades. It runs quietly and smoothly and moves a great deal of air on my back patio. I highly recommend it, especially at this price point!

Easy to install mounting bracket, which make hanging the fan easy, while you connect the wires. Every thing screws together easily and ample hardware is provided.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HomeownerInMT Good, quiet fan. FYI for install with a long extension rod...
We have two of these fans, one is installed in a bedroom and one in our [14 foot] vaulted ceiling in our living room. The bedroom install used the pre-assembled extension rod, and was a straightforward install. The vaulted ceiling install required a 4' extension rod, along with roughly 6' of wiring. The wiring that is installed on the fan motor is about 3' long, to accommodate most installs.
The installation instructions indicate the wiring from the ceiling and base should be handled first, which is fine in a standard install, not when you are installing a fan roughly 8' off the ground on a ladder. To first run the wiring from the ceiling, connect the wiring through the extension rod, and then to the fan with a 2nd set of connections is difficult. It would've been nice if the instructions also covered steps when installing with a long extension rod.
The basic problem comes when you need to connect the fan motor to the extension rod. The threads at the base of the motor make it difficult to install AND run the provided wiring up the extension rod. My suggestion for other installers with long extension rods is this:
1. On the ground, use as much wire from the motor as possible and join with enough extra wiring to get the wiring through the extension rod with room to spare. The instructions suggest leaving about 8" for simplicity.
2. Once the wiring is done and through the rod, put the decorative housing for the base on the rod. The motor, decorated base, and rod should now be assembled together.
3. Finally, attach all three pieces to the ceiling.
Wiring 8' off the ground is a pain, not to mention trying to push all that wire through an long extension rod.

Bought two of these to hang out by our pool. They are beautiful fans and Hunter makes quality products so I am confident they are going to be fabulous! Had an electrician install them and he said it was very easy. Also got the 24" extension rod for both of them because we have 11' ceilings.
