This fan looks fantastic and has a really nice design. Fan speed is also good -- creates a nice breeze. This was a DIY kitchen installation, and I think this item would be better suited to a bedroom, as the 3 bulbs are not nearly bright enough for a kitchen. The installation itself would have been a lot easier if the instructions were not so terrible. Also, the remote is apparently not optional, in the sense that the fan does not work without it. We were baffled initially after installation -- flipped the light switch and nothing happened. We cannot control the fan via the switch on the wall, or the pull chains (so why does it come with them???), only the remote...which does not sit all that snugly in the holder, so it's a little awkward to push the button to turn it on, as it kind of slides around in the holder. Overall, I like the look of this fan, but am not sure the functionality problems make it worth it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mazzie Beautiful Fan with well designed remote
This is the second Hunter fan I have purchased for my condo. I ordered this fan online and received it in a couple days which was much faster than anticipated. It has a great look that is modern and unique. The installation was a little challenging due to the remote control module that has to fit in with wires under the cap at the top of the fan. My suggestion is to trim or bundle as much of the fan wire as you can so there isn't a lot of it that needs to fit in that tight area. Also it required some balancing but the included kit helped make that a fairly easy process. The remote control that came with this unit is nicer than I thought it would be. It is silver in color and matches perfectly with my switch plate. It also fits well on my multi-switch plate. Please see the picture I attached. I love this new fan and overall am extremely satisfied with the Hunter ceiling fans I have purchased.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sophia Absolutely gorgeous. But will be dead in year possibly.
First off. Gorgeous fan!!!! I love it and had an electrician come and install. Afterwards he came back to install a downrod because I didn't realize how short it looked on my ceiling mounted up so high and to remove the chains since it looked silly having them when we use the remote. In order to remove chain, he had to remove the globe and thats when I saw the bulbs. OMG. Did Hunter design a fan around a light bulb. I had purchased CFL chandelier base bulbs for this fan but was away when the electrician installed it and was puzzled when he said it didn't fit. This is a shape of bulb i've never seen before. HOW IN HOLY Heavens am I supposed to find these replacement bulbs. We are replacing all our light fixtires to use only CFL or LED in our house to save money but I've never seen anything like this in CFL LED OR incandescent. The specs for this fan say 60W bults but provided us with (3) 40w bulbs... or about 120w in a master bedroom. Somewhat dim for me. This bulb has a total height of 2 inches. Can anyone help me find a replacement? I haven't owned incandescent lights in years. Can't even remember how long they last. A year-ish? I cant find a CFL or LED bulb that is this small that will fit into the globe that covers the bulbs...

This fan was a good buy, It has a little wobble but not that noticeable. The light bulb is definitely something that you will have to purchase via the be once it goes out.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Utahandthehill Nice Looking Fan with a few design flaws
Very nice looking fan, the blades are small, so make sure to not install it in a very large room. Also, for hunter to get the energy efficient rating they had to place the smallest bulbs possible in the light fixture. They are not very bring (the glass part is frosted and the bulbs are 40 W), so don't rely on the light fixture for much light
The biggest complaint is that when you want to use the light switch for the fan you can not use the remote. You either get one option or the other but not both. We did not see value in placing the remote next to the light switch and having the hassle of remembering to place it there each time we left the room, so we simply opted to use the switch and pull strings instead.
Be careful with the glass, as it is fragile and will crack if you screw the bolt on too tight. Also, if you use your fan year round be prepared to have to take the glass light off to turn the switch. Hunter did not provide that option on the remote or place it in a very convent spot.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by rybread Far larger than noted on website
We bought this product to replace a ceiling fan that was too low to accommodate our new bed. About half way through installation it was quite clear that this new fan was actually LARGER than the fan we were replacing. The dimensions on the HD website make it seem like the fan is only 13" to the bottom of the fan, but that DOES NOT include the light kit. With the light kit, it is almost 20" from the ceiling. Home Depot also advertised this as a "flush mount" fan, but it in fact hangs from a rod. Needless to say we were quite disappointed that this beautiful fan had to be returned.

I actually love this fan, but it is not bright enough for a large room. The light fixture takes three TINY 40W candelabra bulbs. I thought I might be able to swap them for brighter CFLs, but there is no way to fit a CFL in the fixture.
It's such a pretty fan, I'm really disappointed. I'm still debating if I want to take it down and return it.
It was easy to install. I would recommend it for a smaller room or not as a primary source of light.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by rick13 WARNING REMOVE THE PULL CHAINS OR DON'T USE THE REMOTE
The fan has a warning that the fans must be switched on by the pull chain prior to using the supplied remote, or the remote will break. the issue is that in order to find out if the fan is switched on you have to install the fan or test the pull switch with a multimeter. So after breaking one remote, I returned the fan. I rewired the new fan to remove the pull switches so that no one would pull them and break the remote. Only to find out that this fans globe would not fit. so i returned again. The problem with the third one was a manufacturing defect in the glass globe ( 2in long crack that looks filled in), but instead of returning the whole thing i called Hunter for a replacement globe. In a few days the globe arrives only to find that it is slightly larger than the original and it wont fit, so back to home depot for the last time.
