Answer:
The remote control button is actually also a dimmer. If you hold down the light button, it cycles down, then up to change the brightness dramatically. After lots of investigation into the issue, their tech support told me about the dimmer feature, which is not mentioned in the manual.

Answer:
the light sockets are mounted with 2 screws. I removed one screw from each of them, then rotated the sockets outward and was able to fit 60w LED bulbs, which are bright enough to illuminate our master bedroom more than sufficiently well enough and was a super easy fix.

Answer:
I've tried every light bulb i can get to fit and cannot find anything with anywhere near the brightness you would expect.
I cannot imagine what the designers plan was for this light. It looks good when it's off, but the light is gives off is almost useless.

Answer:
I was able to wire the fan directly without the remote. Works perfectly. Keep in mind that you do lose the ability to change the fan speed except to use the pull chain (no big deal for me).

Answer:
According to the Hunter representive the remote is necessary. Does not make sense, but that is what he read... Anyway the rep told me that if I did not want to use the remote I should return the fan and buy one without a remote.

Energy Star certified?

Labelled in the photo and specs as energy star certified, but out of curiosity with the complaints of low air movement and incandescent candelabra bulbs, I checked the certification standards for ceiling fans and this doesn't appear to meet the stated minimum 5,000 CFM of air movement on high speed required for energy star fans - can you confirm that this in fact energy star certified?

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent fan Simple assembly and installation. Is very quiet. Looks good LED candelabra base bulbs fit. High efficiency motor. Very good control in the dark. (bedroom fan) May 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, poor quality and does not perform I love the look of this fan, however it did not balance well and we had to do quite a bit of adjusting to make it level. After 3 weeks the remote quit working. Looks good, however does not perform well! January 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Easy to install and it looks great. Would recommend to others. December 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful looking, very dim lighting First, i have seen other reviews about installing without the remote. I have 2 switches (1-fan, 1-light) so i didn't want to use the remote. I was able to wire the fan directly without the remote. Works perfectly. Keep in mind that you do lose the ability to change the fan speed except to use the pull chain (no big deal for me). The lights are really really dim. I cannot express enough how poor the lighting is. I've changes the bulbs to higher lumens and still way way too dim to use for anything like reading. I love the look and quality of this fan and would buy it again if the light issue was resolved. March 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed I ordered this from Home Depot online. Just installed it and the blades do not want to turn on. I removed the remote and straight wired it and the blades will turn on, but only one speed and I have to push them to get them moving. Very noise when fan is on; sounds like it needs oiling. I called Hunter and they said the fan must be run with the remote; makes no sense remotes are optional and this one did not work anyway. Technician said he thought there was a bad capcitor, but recommended I return the product to Home Depot and buy something else. It is beautiful to look at, but is defective. I am very disappointed. What a waist of time. October 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very satisfied with this purchase We bought this little fan three years ago to replace an old light fixture in the family room of a house that we were renting. First I did not like the three blades, I really wanted at least four blades. But it worked out fine. We love this fan, and are now going to buy a second one for a bigger living room, as we have just purchase an bigger house. My husband said that it was a breeze to install. The remote has taken many falls...yet it is still in good shape. Sorry for those who did not like the fan. But we love it. July 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nightmare Fan Had problems with this fan from day one. The component that connected it to the remote would not work so I had to go to home depot to get a new one. Within a few months the fan speed would not change unless the pull was used and it went from changing speeds at random to only going from low to medium to low and then finally stopped working completely. I had two repair people come and they said the motor was shot. Very frustrating considering that the fan was not cheap (I paid $50 more than the current price) and the installation costs as much if not more than the fan itself. Also, the warranty is garbage because you have to uninstall the fan and then pack it and ship it with insurance at your cost, so that they can determine if the problem is covered under warranty. The cost to do that would cost less than a new fan, which won't look as nice but at least it will work. July 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely beautiful, but a slow fan motor. :/ Looks so great, but if you want to cool down a room, it's not great. Almost no difference between lo, medium, and high. If it's for a room which is cool enough, get it because it looks awesome. If it's for the hottest room in the house. Don't get it!! July 16, 2015
