Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BergeyRPI This remote works great!
I now have this remote in 3 spots in my house and a Hampton Bay remote in 2 spots in my house. It's a nice feature to be able to turn the fan and/or light on and off without getting up. You can also adjust the speed of the fan from the remote. Installation is a little tough as there is no real great location for the receiver inside the fan. I use double sided tape or velcro tape to hold the receiver in place. The Hunter product is better made than the Hampton Bay product, since the part that holds the remote fits nicely over the previously used light switch. The Hampton Bay design expects someone to screw the remote holder into the wall, because it definitely doesn't fit over the light switch.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SamIAm It works well, but...
Purchased this remote control to use with my Hunter ceiling fan, which did not come with one. Everything works fine. However, I am no longer able to use my wall switch to turn on the lights. Another ceiling fan I had purchased for my living room came with a remote control, and I was able to retain use of the wall switch. So now I have this whole remote control hanging over the switch plate in my bedroom. Not totally happy about that.

My son uses this all the time. It works very well. It was pretty easy to install. If you have more than one of these in your house, you can change a setting so each remote will work exclusively with a specific fan. One of the nice features, it includes a cradle that attaches to the light switch. This makes a nice storage place for the remote.

The receiver case just barely fits in tne fan ceiling bracket. The fact that the wires come out of the SIDES of the receiver rather than the ends further complicates the fit (who thought of that design?) Once installed it worked for a day and then the remote stopped communicating with the reciever. Now the fan and light turn on and off randomly. Piece of junk!

I lost my original remote control, so I purchased this one thinking was a universal remote. However this remote is for a fan that never had a remote. It did not work on my fan. It is nothing wrong with the product, it just did not work for me.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RogerB Hunter ceiling fan with remote control.
This fan was easy to install and is very quit. If the installation doesn't go right just review the directions. It has to go together in a certain order so don't jump ahead because you have done other fans. You get what you pay for and Hunter is the best.

After buying remote , our fan started turning off and on by itself! We changed toggle switches in fan and in remote but it didn't fix problem. We will never buy this brand again and are now replacing our ceiling fan.

Since installing the remote, our fan and/or light turns on by itself randomly. We have changed the dip switch setting with no success. It is a terrible deign flaw. We are now replacing this with a different brand.
