every thing works great! no wobble no noise.... perfect. no need to balance.
many people say you can not wire the fan and light separately but this is not true.
if you understand electronics a little i promise you can wire the light and fan on different switches. i have done it. with this "Lutron Maestro 1 A Multi-Location 7 Speed Combination Fan and Light Control, White" no need to use the supplied remote but you must install the supplied controller box. if you don't then yes you can only wire the fan.
however, like people said the five screw deal did make me scratch my head for a while.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DRELKE Very good fan. Quiet, and provides good air flow.
Hunter has a very good product here. It's a very good fan with nice features. When installing there are five (5) shipping bolts and a metal plate that have to be removed. Recommend that Hunter update their manual or include an insert.
Over all, a very good product and I would recommend it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WarmWaterHeaven Excellent... BUT it's a 2 wire fan!
Nowhere in previous reviews have I seen mention that this is a 2-wire (not 3 wire fan). Meaning... you cannot hook this fan up and have constant power to the fan and switched power to the lights. You have to hook the fan up to constant power and leave it turned on. In other words, you cannot use the wall switch to turn the lights on and off like most people would want to. Instead it has a funky wall plate that hangs over your switch and then you hang the remote on the wall plate and you USE THE REMOTE AT ALL TIMES to turn the lights on and off... and the fan on and off. I bought this thinking I could leave the remote on the nightstand and use the wall switch to control the lights when I walk into the room. But NOPE. I thought I had it hooked up wrong at first, but there is no 3rd power wire to connect the "switched" lights to. So no there is no other way. I plan to buy a second remote, one to hang on the wall plate, and one to have on nightstand, and then I'm golden. Not to mention if the single remote I have ever failed, the fan AND LIGHTS are useless, so a backup will be nice. It's a bit awkward using the remote as a switch but I have adapted to avoid the hassle of taking the fan down and repacking it and shipping for a return. Other than that, I love the fan. As others have said... it is QUIET which is one of the main reasons i bought it. But I wouldn't have bought it in the first place, had i known it was a 2-wire fan.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1212 Love this fan
This fan looks great and performs great as well. It is quiet and did not require balancing once installed. The installation was tricky because there is a shipping part that is screwed down that must be removed, but the instructions did not specify this. Other than that we love the fan!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mibouck Best fan I've ever owned.
This fan is absolutely wonderful. It was a breeze to install and took less than an hour for my husband to do it. It looks so wonderful in our living room, like it was meant to be there.
The fan itself looks great, the ability to reverse the blades to a different finish is awesome, it's almost like getting two fans for the price of one. This thing couldn't get any quieter if it tried! We've had it both on low and on high and you can't even hear it! It moves air really, really well and no portion of our giant living room goes untouched.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NJcustomer Very nice looking fan, quite but beware of instructions
Once the fan is assembled, it looks really nice, it's quite and didn't need to rebalance the blades. But the installation instructions are lacking information and in some cases don't make sense. For example, they don't tell you anywhere to remove 6 black screws before you install the lighting kit. I scratched my head for over an hour until I found a review saying what to do. In addition, it's true that it's a bit more shiny than in the web picture. It's not exactly a brushed nickel look, but still looks very nice.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JCM0020 Good fan but terrible light
The fan was easy to put together and install. The other reviews mention removing the black screws before installing the plate of the light fixture which helped me with installation. The light fixture is terrible!! It's so bad that I'm gonna return the fan. My room is 14x17 with 11 ft ceiling and the bulbs that come with it do not light up the room at all. I've tried soft white CFL bulbs equivalent to a 100w incandescent but it gives off a very yellow color. The problem is the glass dome. I've even tried 40W incandescent (the recommended max) and it's way too dark. I'm very disappointed that I went through all the installation to find out the light is too dark.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ItsMeDee By Far the BEST Ceiling Fan I've Ever Had
I've had at least a dozen new ceiling fans installed over the years and this one is by far the BEST one yet. It's attractively priced though it looks like it cost more. Very sleek. It does NOT rattle, shake, or hum, even on the highest speed. The remote control is super convenient. The light's not as bright as the 5-light model I was using prior, but a table lamp supplements well enough, so I have no complaints whatsoever. I plan to purchase at least 2 more of these fans as they are look good, work quietly, and were VERY easy to install (took less than 30 mins). Definitely recommended, don't hesitate to buy this fan.
