Does the globe spin and make you dizzy?

Hi. I love the look of this fan but am puzzled by the video they show. It appears that, unlike a regular fan where the blades spin and the lights stay put, the globe light spins as well. Is this true? I think it could make one rather dizzy... Thanks for any input on this! Elizabeth

No it does not spin. Perfectly fine for my son with seizures and autism

Can this fan be flush mounted?

Asked by: KellyG
No, but there is a very short down rod included that I used. The regular down rod comes preassembled and you just change it; its close to flush.

This seems like a great fan for our boys' room. How about a corresponding fan for our daughter's room? Nature theme?

Asked by: BlueSanDiego
I revered the blades to black and my daughters love it.

I purchased this one for the "nursery" bedroom I recently modified for our new granddaughter. We were looking for a brushed nickel or pewter finish fan to replace the white one we had in the room prior to my remodel, and we came across this one. It's not a fan that I will probably keep in place once the new rugrat gets to junior high, but it's pretty unique for a child's room. It's constructed ok for the price. The glass globe is nice, the blades look decent and it mounted easily as is typically the case for most of today's mid-priced fans. The blades and associated mounting brackets balanced nicely right out of the box -- I didn't have to add any weights at all, which to me is a good sign of quality control. The sheet metal around the main body is a little larger in diameter than it needs to be which results in a little bulging between the mounting screws but not excessively so, although it does make it look a little cheap (this is why I rate it four stars rather than five). It came with no-name CFL bulbs which is a nice plus, although I donated them and installed LED bulbs as I much prefer LEDs, especially now that they are so inexpensive. Hopefully since it's a Hunter it'll hold up. Overall it's a nice fan and highly recommended if the design appeals to you.

I was worried that a 48" fan would look too big for his bedroom but gave it a try since it doesn't come in a smaller size. It looks great! Moreover, my grandson loves it. We run it on low speed and it provides a gentle breeze and is very quiet. I was also impressed that it ran very smoothly with no wobble at all, even on high speed. My only complaint is with the energy efficient CFL bulbs that it came with. Apparently they are not rated for dimming as they make a humming noise when you dim them. We will have to replace them. It is a great fan.

It is quiet, relatively easy to install, and yet unique. We did get an amazing deal while it was on sale, but I would probably have paid more. The only downfall is that the globe is more realistic while the space rockets on each fan blade are more cartoony. It isn't a deal breaker, especially since you can't really see the rockets while the fan is on anyway. Just a minor inconsistency. Our toddler loves it! (His only complaint is that it doesn't project stars, which I have to admit would be really cool.)

I reversed the blades to BLACK so it could be used in my older teems room. Fan has nice power. I also replaced the CFL bulb with an LED. It is dimmable; however, the older dimmers and the new LED bulbs don't get along so right now the light is on/off until I get a new LED-friendly dimmer.

It is not a great fan, but it is a very good fan and is good for a kid who loves space. Technically, it is not a great fan because it is single capacitor, and not a triple capacitor as it should be since it has three speeds. On high, it's wind output is terrific. On low, however, it is ridiculous. It's so slow it doesn't qualify as low. It is useless. Medium is more like low. So really, there are only two effective speeds with this fan - high and low (which is the middle option). Also, as can be expected since the globe is colored, the light output is low from the included CFL bulbs. I will likely replace them with some LED bulbs soon. Luckily, we really only use the overhead light in the mornings and use a lower light lamp in his room in the evenings in which we still use a halogen incandescent bulb (Google "LED melantonin" to see why we limit LED use to night as much as possible absent a full spectrum bulb). Overall, though, the fan does what we need and he likes it on high, so it works and was worth the cost.
