Customer Questions & Answers

Can the blade direction be changed with the remote?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, blade direction must be controlled on the fan itself. Shouldn't be changed more than twice a year under normal usage.

why are the lights dim last time a wire was loose all connections good still dim

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your interest in a Hunter product. There have been no reported issues with the lights being dim on the fan however the fan does have a dimming feature. To ensure full brightness press and hold the light button to cycle through the light from full brightness to dim. Should you have any more questions or concerns please contact a Hunter representative at 1-888-830-1326 Monday-Friday 8am-6pm CST and Saturday 8:30am-5pm CST. Thank you for choosing Hunter!

is the light dimmable with the included remote?

The product description says it is, but one of the customer reviews mentions that the light is not dimmable. Also, are there brighter bulbs of some kind availabe for this light?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, we just bought this fan. You have to hold down the light button on the remote to adjust the brightness of the light. You can have it as bright or as dim as you like.

Customer Reviews

Fairhaven 52 in. Antique Pewter Ceiling Fan with Remote Control is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Fan at a Wonderful Price This ceiling fan/light has exceeded our expectations for anything we could have purchased at this price! We replaced a light so we had to modify the electrical box so the installation would be done correctly but even that wasn't difficult. I love the look of it with the antique pewter and dark blades. The fan is extremely quiet, there is absolutely no wobble and we love the remote control. For the guy that left a bad review because he kept losing the remote (it's not rocket science): It comes with a remote control holder and if you mount it underneath or beside your light switch, leave the light switch turned on and use the remote to control it, there is no hunting for the remote - take the remote to bed with you (yes, put it on the nightstand) and put it back in the holder in the morning - and everything works like a charm! I'd definitely purchase more of these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ignore bad reviews, they didn't read the directions. I have 5 of these fans, all work great! First off, it takes time to install, but it looks great! You can wire it to a remote, (only uses a single switch unless you bypass it). I left it and it was awesome. The dimmer is great! You will see reviews about people complaining that there is no dimmer. You must set the remote to CFL on the back, and then you just press and hold and the light will dim. Fan is super quite and the low setting is perfect to have the air moving when you are trying to sleep. Great fan, great price, would HIGHLY recommend. I installed my first one with no knowledge of how to install a fan (it was my first fan installation ever!) Followed and read the directions, worked like a gem!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great fan! This fan is simply great! I have installed a couple of fans prior, and this one is easy. I read the reviews prior to purchasing and find the review regarding remote pretty dumb. Simple electrical knowledge would tell you that the switch has to be on for the fan to work, and the remote is wired after the switching meaning it would get no power without the switch on. The remote works great, and I like the style of it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ceiling fan We bought this fan for our living room and were so impressed with the quality at the price that we bought 5 more to put throughout the rest of the house. I had never installed a ceiling fan before but the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The motor is silent and there is no wobble in any of the six fans we put up. I am very happy with this fan!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive and good quality. Good attention to detail. Very attractive. Quiet. Did not have to balance. Plan to buy one more for our den.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't buy if you want to use a wall switch I thought a remote would be an added convenience, turns out the remote is the only way to operate the fan at all. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. Turning the light or fan on is a two-step process (wall switch + remote). That makes our wall switch on the opposite side of the room from the remote useless, as well as the second switch normally used to control fan speed. It looks nice and runs silent, so we'll stick with it for now, but I doubt we'll ever buy another Hunter fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Fan, One Grip About Remote Operation The fan works well and was not difficult to install. Have never installed a fan and did not have much trouble with the fan. My problems came installing the fan box, but that was my fault. While I love the remote (don't have to get out of bed to turn off the light), I have one request. I would like to see some basic functionality without having to have the remote. When I walk in to a dark room, I want to be able to flip a light switch and have light, not have to find the remote first. That way I don't have to remember to put the remote away every morning. This also means that if I misplace the remote, I literally can't use the light or fan. Even your $4000 high-tech TV can be operated (except for maybe some advanced functions) without a remote. Add in a basic 'light-on' function at the wall switch and this is a 'perfect' fan :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful fan at the right price This was the first time we installed a ceiling fan so it took us a little longer than normal. We had a small issue with finding the screws that attach the blades to the fan motor; the manufacturer had all of the products screws plus one extra of each in sealed plastic bags except for the screws needed for the step to attach the blades to the motor. Turns out the screws were pre-screwed into the motor, not sure if all fan manufacturers do this but we were looking all over for the screws. Once we got past that step it was pretty much smooth sailing.
