Where does the receiver go?

I'm installing this fan. I am having trouble fitting the remote control receiver inside the canopy, where all the wires connect to ceiling power wires. Is the receiver supposed to go inside the canopy? Perhaps I'm not placing the receiver in its proper alignment for the canopy to fit over the wiring and the receiver?

Answer:
Yes the receiver "lays' inside the canopy right above the ball. Try putting the long flat side up. Push as much of the wiring as you can into the ceiling box as possible, this will give you more room for the receiver.

hi the receiver fits inside the frame. Almost like you are pushing it into the hole into the ceiling.

Answer:
Hello! The receiver should be placed inside the canopy. After hanging the dowrod on the ceiling bracket, there should be space to fit the receiver above the dowrod inside the bracket before putting the canopy on to cover it. If you need additional assistance we would be more than happy to help. Please contact us at 1-888-830-1326. Thank you!

Thank you for the answer. The answer is really in the installation video shown. You can actually see the installer place the receiver within the bracket that holds the fan. The video doesn't talk about it but it is shown. I guess I should have watched the video first. Also there are various videos on youtube showing the installation procedure. I hope this helps.

Yes it is odd that this isn't mentioned in the instructions nor does it seem like a real logical place to put it. It will fit with all the wires. I put two fans up in our living room and really, you just need to carefully "jam" the receiver in there.

Digital remote and wall switch control

We have recently installed a Hunter Model # 53032 fan and experienced the receiving sensor failing. Hunter sent us a replacement receiving unit, and we followed instructions in syncing the remote transmitter with the replacement fan sensor unit, and got the fan and remote to function correctly. However, our wall power witch is a “stacked” unit with the top switch controlling the Hunter Model # 53032 fan, and the bottom switch controlling an existing wall sconce light fixture; as such, the supplied cradle does not fit on our style wall power switch. Thus, can we turn the fan and light fixture off/on using the wall switch (returning to the last fan/light setting) or can we only use the digital remote control (no dip switches with this Hunter model # 53032 unit)? In a nut shell, can the remote only be used, and the wall switch left always in the “on mode” or can the wall switch be used, as well?

If the wall switch is left on, it's going to supply power to the fan. If the fan switch is off, the fan/light will not use any power. Hunter Fairhaven model# 22550: After installing according to page 9 (English) directions, following example for DIP switch settings, being sure that the power is on and the factory supplied battery is in, the remote does not turn on light or fan. What steps should be taken to solve this problem?

Answer:
It may not be the bulb wattage. The fan actually includes a dimmer switch and by default it does not turn on at the brightest setting. Press and hold the light switch. You should see the output vary from dim to brighter. The next time you turn it on it should be at the same brightness level.

Answer:
Hi MsBertie! Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to use three 75 watt bulbs. You can use any kind of bulb you would like as long as the combined wattage of the bulbs do not exceed the maximum 190 watts that our light kits allow. If you do exceed the 190, eventually the light kit will no longer operate.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 61 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hunter 53032 lacking correct electrical instructions Ease of install was terrible. Other two fans I installed were much easier. Instructions lacked to mention the red or blue wire from ceiling simply needs to be capped off and placed up in box not connecting to another wire. The hanger bracket simply to tight for remote transmitter and all extra cabling. Went on line to find out about the red/blue ceiling wire. Had to take apart (called Home Depot and advised to connect to other white wires-wrong) and get back to the wiring part to correct. Hunter support was closed for Labor Day Holiday. Haven't done this yet, but pretty sure this will work. September 5, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by receiver went out We bought this fan 18 months ago and had it professionally installed. It worked great and we loved it. we've only used it maybe 10 times (the weather is very mild here). Yesterday we went to turn it on and nothing happened. Our contractor tested it today and found that the receiver is not working now. I wish I had paid more attention to the previous reviews since several mention this very problem. Since it only works with the remote (no pull chains), I guess we toss this one out and get a new one. What a waste of about 180.00, not including the contractor install fee. September 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Major regrets Lighting is horrible - even when I installed LED it's still very dull - and I have the dimmer turned off (Hold down the off button and press the light button twice). I hate the fact that you have to use the remote to change ANYTHING. If the battery dies or if the remote is misplaced I'm stuck. I am debating on paying someone again to take it down and reinstall another one. Wonder why Hunter would continue to sell this model. Wish I had read the reviews before buying. I just thought since it was a Hunter, it was a good choice. I thought wrong ! August 31, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Remotes would not pair Bought the Fairhaven Hunter for Home Depot - after completing installation - could not get the remote to pair (no pull chains, which I understood and choose) After several attempts, wired the fan and light direct without the remote - light would work but not fan motor, which is highly unusual for a Hunter product {yes, I did check to make sure the forward/reverse switch was active}. Back to H Depot and picked up another fan. Remote would not pair, but wired directly the fan motor/light worked - went back H Depot and purchased a 'Universal remote' installed it - ALL IS WELL (2 installations and purchase of universal remote) I have installed quite a few remote control fans and found that HUNTERs 'dip switch' remote technology is w/o failure- go back to what works!!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hunter fan This fan works excellent and is very quiet. Installation went easy and good instructions on the wiring for the remote. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan get lots of compliments too! Really great fan! Lots of compliments! only thing is lights provided are really dim so you will probably need to get brighter ones. Otherwise super nice and worth it! August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love It Looks fantastic, is very quiet and I love that I can dim the light. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by love the look of this far but came with damaged parts I do like this fan, looks great, runs quiet and nice air flow. Do look it over before you install it, Hunter has a terrible warranty, they requested pics on damaged parts to review to see if they would even replace them....We just put it up last night and seen the damaged parts....I would get extra warranty thew home depot so you don't have to deal with hunter... WILL NEVER BUY HUNTER PRODUCTS AGAIN AFTER TALKING TO THEIR REPRESENTATIVE....HOW CAN THEY NOT JUST SEND OUT NEW PARTS OF PRODUCTS THAT CAME DAMAGED??? July 22, 2016
