Answer:
My contractor installed these, and he says they require 4" duct work. Apparently, if you try to hook it up to a smaller diameter duct, it will make the fan run much noisier.

Answer:
For model 82030 the opening on the unit is 10.625x9.375. This unit should be connected to a 4 inch duct and vent from the outside.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The housing was broken I bought online and installed this. I was not able to assemble the entire product. The main housing was broken and had two broken stamped lances. I wasn't able to finalize installation. It was impossible to install the final finish bezel. February 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ultra quiet super powerful Got this fan on sale bought it with free fast shipping. Installation was a breeze. The fan is ultra quiet, can't even hear it. The suction is also real good. Take a hot shower and the steam is not there on mirrors. It's a big unit with a good motor. August 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very quiet bathroom fan Bought these for a bathroom remodel. Extremely quiet, you hardly know they are on. Very nice upgrade. Requires 4" duct work, good idea to check your existing ducts. July 24, 2012
