Answer:
--Aldo--You would not be able to turn the light on with the pull chain. The Highbury comes with an integrated remote which will need to be used for both light and fan control.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 177 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we were looking for Simple yet fit our needs. Easy to install. Nice fan August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stopped working . . . The fan worked great but it was the light kit that stopped working which in turn caused the fan to not work as well. On top of that Hunter no longer makes the light kit so we couldn't just switch it out. We have to buy a whole new fan. So when researching a new one, I saw others had similar experiences with this fan so needless to say we will not be purchasing this again for its replacement. It's a disappointment since we've never had a problem with Hunter fans before. The search continues . . . May 11, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by just don't put yourself through this purchase and install If you have to have a remote...maybe this fan is for you. If you like a standard fan with pull chains just buy a regular fan. The wood color blades matched my new floors great. The lighting is good compared to some. The fan strength is awful. June 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Install Bought this before I read the reviews and was a little leery about all the people saying the installation instructions weren't very good. Not true in my case. The instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. Took it step by step and had it up in less than an hour, including removing the old fan. My only complaints were 1- it doesn't say in the instructions to set up the remote you have to pull the light and fan chain once, found that on the website www.hunterfan.com/faqs. 2- There were no screws to mount the remote control holder. 3- The CFL bulbs that came with it flicker a little, will try incandescent and see if that gets better and will eventually go LED. Overall I felt my complaints mimimal and not worthy of a down rating. As long as it doesn't break for a few years I'm satisfied May 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke after only 2 years! After only two years the ceiling fan broke. I called the manufacturer and they suggested I troubleshoot by pulling it apart and replacing one part or another. How ridiculous! Why would I (1) even attempt that (2) not believe doing so would only bring another couple of years of service, if I'm lucky. I am a consumer. I do not have the expertise for taking fans apart not to mention the time and the desire to climb a ladder. No, if I'm going to go through a huge rigmarole, I will simply replace the fan with another brand. One that works. I mean, folks, it's just a fan! March 21, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money After having the fan work flawlessly for one year and ten months, the smell of smoke appeared and the motor went out. First to go was low speed, then within 24 hours the high speed failed..... March 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fan speed control failure Purchased this fan in 2013, today the fan speed controller decided to fail, just did make it 3years.... Not impressed at all!!!! March 8, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed with quality Fan was relatively easy to install but after 8 months the fan has completely quit working. At first it was the light kit that went out. The fan would work if the light kit was turned off, but now the fan won't work at all. I'm very dissapointed with the quality. Trouble shooting section of manual of no help... Going to buy a new fan as I am tired of being angry because my fan is just a dust collector. February 21, 2016
