Answer:
I believe you can mount it vertically, water pressure is water pressure. and I've seen other valves mounted both vertically and horizontally.
Hope this helps

You can replace the diaphragm itself if you want. Diaphragm replacements are right next to it on the shelf.

Will this bonnet fit a Hunter SRV valve? I know the diaphragm and solenoid will but will the spring? If so, I can them use it to completely rebuild my SRV valve.

Answer:
Yes it does, that's what I did. I just took all the guts out of the new valve and put it in my existing valve body still in the ground, and it worked. completely interchangeable.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, durable, good product Replaced an old system which leaked. Got 3 of these because of their high rating and being professional grade. Installed easily, doesn't leak and is very quiet compared to the ones they replaced. Would recommend to everyone. August 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Buy online, pick up in store, the repair was easy. Saved $ from having someone come out to diagnose it. The problem was that one of my sprinkler zones was stuck always on. After digging out all the valves, I Identified the valve that was defective. After replacing the diaphragm, that didn't work, it appeared that the actual housing was broken and leaking, so bought the whole unit thinking I would have to cut the old one out and add pipe and plumb the new valve in. All I actually did was take the new head and internal mechanism out and placed that into the existing valve body, it worked! Didn't have to cut the old one out, and even though my sprinkler system is over 15 yrs old, the parts are still interchangeable. Wired it up and it's been working fine since. $15 versus having someone come out and replace the whole valve. Even better, I bought it online, and picked it up at the store, it was waiting for me when I got there, 2 min in and out while I'm doing other errands. I didn't take the time to have to hunt for it. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Used as a replacement for older valve - Worked great I had several older valves that needed repairs. These replacements made changing out the parts very easy. I'll probably end up buying a few more to keep on hand for future repairs. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product. Replacing the original internal valves at my house as they fail. The house is twenty years old and this is my third valve repair over the last year or so . So I'd say considering how hard these things work, and the fact that they always have water sitting in them, The fact they they seem to have a twenty year lifespan. I'd have to say they're really amazing. Not only that but... You know you'll be able to get parts for them in another twenty years. These valves are a staple in the industry. I wish everything worked this well! December 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hunter irrigation valve I was told by my irrigation specialist that hunter was the best and easiest to work with. I purchased seven valves, one leaked so bad it had to be replaced. However, everything seems to work great now. March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for Irrigation Master I bought this controller because it was noted to work in a vertical installation. It works perfectly as specified. I have a very small leak in one of my pressurized irrigation feeds. Leak detectors wanted hundreds of dollars to try and find the leak. Instead I installed this controller at the start of the irrigation main and attached a timer. Now the system only has pressure for 3 hours every third day. Bye, Bye leak. Love it. Mark June 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fixed my problem My irrigation was not working and was not sure if it was the diaphragm or solinoid, so in aught this product to Chang both. Only took 5 minutes to change. Irrigation works fine now. July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement Valve Works just like it's supposed to. Was a replacement for the same unit. July 23, 2014
