Item was an easy install on my existing sprinklers. These heads provide better overall coverage with less water. You will need to run the sprinklers longer but the water gets soaked into the ground. Beware = these heads DO NOT turn all the way off with the center adjustment screw.

This product was recommended by several pros I know; the government/water district here even gave a $3 rebate for each sprinkler installed. Just recommend you put out like 5 tuna cans to measure the water output. These sprinklers put out water slowly which is great for my steep slanted yard. Measure so you know the right amount to use on your grass (which can vary due to water pressure, size of pipe, etc). I just water at different times with intervals in between to prevent runoff. These seem to work ok in the wind due to the fingerlike stream.

I had a sprinkler system installed at my 1920's house in Denver two summers ago now...b/c the old pipes provide such low water pressure, the landscapers swapped out the heads to this model, which provides several small, rotating streams. They work great and look super cool. Anyone who sees the system thinks it's more expensive than it is and yet it conserves water at the same time.
Each summer, one of the heads seems to get a little dirty and has difficulty popping up, plus sprays water all over the place. I just removed the head itself and the pop up unit, cleaned them out for a minute under the kitchen faucet and put it back together. Super easy.
Would buy again - highly recommended.

Hunter tells me these MP heads will soon be required for California home owners using irrigation heads for their water conservation, Hunter said up to 30% less water vs traditional spray 4" pop ups.
If you are using these for the first time, I recommend getting some MP 1000 and MP 2000 heads,
It is harder to predict if for example the MP 1000 are rated for 8-13" but is dependent on pressure going to the heads. MP 2000 Series are rated from 13-21" if you have sloping turf, you'll need that extra distance for proper head to head spacing.
East to adjust, up to 25% reduce or increase spray distances,
On balance is HUGE upgrade from Rain Bird 1804 VANs.
These Hunter MP series rotator heads will work with any 4" spray body. I wouild recommend Hunter bodies, The inlets retract without leaking.

Smart upgrade - same screw on connection as other Hunter nozzles. Easy to adjust. I changed out all the nozzles for my lawn, increased the run time approx. 30%. No more soaked areas. I plan to save 30+% in water even with the extended run time. However at $5+ per nozzle, not a cheap upgrade. I plan to change out the nozzles for my garden areas alter this season.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Grassdude questionable in mild to medium wind
These sprinklers are awful in mild to medium winds, especially if you have just hydroseeded. My neighbors did sod and there lawn is fine. However, new seedlings need frequent regular watering. Take 50% off of the distance of the spray in these winds. I have had to hand water endlessly. I have used way more water trying to get to these areas then a regular non-water saving sprinkler. If you have any wind at all think twice about purchasing these. Is there really any warning when you purchase these about wind? I would say very mild winds are fine. Even with frequent hand watering the grass is lush in some areas and still burning up in others.

Good product but HD needs to carry all of the heads so people can use them for all of their system. If i have to go to more than 1 store to get what I need it will be the one that I can get it all. I have found That Home Depot is no cheaper than other stores for these.

The rain bird nozzles seem to make a betters stream and pattern. Don't like these myself.
