Product Overview

The PGJ Gear-Drive Rotor Sprinkler with 2.0 Nozzle is ideal for use in watering applications that typically call for a spray but would benefit from a rotor. The sprinkler's rotor features a water-efficient nozzle and an arc that easily adjusts between 40 degrees and 360 degrees from the top of the sprinkler. A protective rubber cover and an extra-large filter screen on the sprinkler help to prevent debris from entering the rotor.

  • Can work in tandem with larger rotors to combine big and small areas in a single zone
  • 1,963 sq. ft. of coverage for optimal watering
  • 4 in. pop-up clears the turf
  • 40 - 360 degree arc provides adjustment from the top of the sprinkler when wet and dry
  • Radius-adjustment screw for positive nozzle retention and fine-tuning of the spray
  • Gear-drive rotor combines a spray with a rotor
  • Water-lubricated gear drive offers reliable rotation
  • Rubber cover provides durability and helps to keep debris out
  • Extra-large filter screen traps debris and helps to prevent clogging
  • Fewer heads and efficient nozzle for water efficiency

How do you adjust without the tool?

The tool was not included.
Asked by: bryce
You can get the tool cheap at Home Depot or any hardware store that sells the Hunter head. On one side of the tool you get a 5/64" hex wrench and on the other side there's a tool that allows you to extend the head to make some adjustments easier. If you don't have to extend the head you can just use a 5/64" hex wrench, but like I said the tool is so cheap you can get one for less than a hex wrench.

What is the shortest distance this can be set to.

I only need it to spray out about 12 feet.
Asked by: Bummed
I would say that it sprinkler head, would probably exceed 12 feet, and a better choice would be a Pop-up style sprinkler head. -BC

It's a good product - but my biggest complaint is the multiple holes on top of the swiveling head which are not labeled clearly with regards to their function. For the home owner who fixes or replaces a Hunter sprinkler occasionally, it's not easily intuitive to figure out what hole one should put the key in to control what.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sprinkler Head They work fine. They have lasted about 5-7 years before the gears went out. The good thing is they have not changed so all I had to do to replace was unscrew the top and replace the guts with the new ones

A great rotor for the yard, but didn't stand a chance against my snow blower which pulled off the head, boo hoo. However I was able to snap the head back in place and the rotor still works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PGJ dependably works for rated distances. PGJ heads should include full set of insert nozzles and adjustment tool. This purchase brings my total to 16 heads. First ten have reliably worked for 3 seasons.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from skip the PGJ, go for the PGP Hello, After removing some trees and converting the area to turf, I purchased a few of these to replace some pop up misters. I had already installed some PGP units in some other areas of the yard and was very pleased with their ability to provide coverage and respond to fluctuations in water pressure. The PGJ units are not nearly as good. I only installed one of them to see how they performed and was very disappointed. It could be because I had already been using the PGP. So my advice, pay the extra 2 bucks and you'll be much happier with the range, coverage, adjustability and variety of nozzles. Yes, the PGP comes with the adjustment tool and a full pallet of nozzles. The PGJ does not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sprinkler head! I've used most of the sprinkler heads on the market and so far the Hunter PGJ is the best. I had 15 of them installed 10 years ago and so far there are no failures. The reason I bought one just recently is because I thought one had gone bad, but it ended up being a cracked connector. I'd say 10 years without a failure is a pretty good testament as to the quality!
