Answer:
Hello! A 42" fan would definitely not be too big for a 10' x 10' room. We recommend that you do not go with a smaller fan for that size room. Thank you!

Answer:
Hello, Thanks for your question! We recommend using the candelabra bulbs that come with the fan. The light kit has been tested & approved for use with these bulbs only. Using another type of bulb can cause damage to the light kit or cause it to operate improperly.

Actually, the answer is more detailed. Because there is no dimmer function to this light kit, there is no problem using either CFL or LED light bulbs in place of the pair of 60 watt incandescent ones supplied.
Please note that this fan’s light kit uses candelabra base bulbs, the tiny base ones. Normal light bulbs will not fit. However, you will have no problem purchasing bulbs that will work with this fan.
I hope this helps,
Chris.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good product I installed this fan by myself. It took about 3 hours from opening the box to cleaning up, but I am very pleased with the final result. The instructions were easy to follow; however, not all of the parts were labeled. The hardware was labeled, but all other parts you had to compare to the picture in the instruction manual in order to figure out what they were talking about. I was daunted by the assembly and installation at first, but the instruction manual kept everything simple and was easy to follow. The weight of each piece during installation was manageable (not too heavy). Only con was the 2 - 60W bulbs don't seem bright enough. I will be upgrading to the 75W bulb (max allowed). June 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love Hunter fans. Love Hunter ceiling fans. They are easy to install, quiet when running and look great. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kensington 42 Inch Ceiling Fan This fan is very attractive, and was easy to install. It comes with 2 60W incandescent bulbs with candelabra bases. Because of the antique color of the globe, not much of that light gets out into the room. There is overload protection to prevent larger bulbs from being used. But, if you aren't counting on the fan lights to brightly illuminate the room, it is a beautiful fan, and looks quite elegant. March 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fan for the kid's room Recommend shopping and deciding what all you need and involving the kids. This worked out well to get exactly what they wanted. Installation pics weren't always super easy to follow, but it wasn't too bad. The fan support had to be rebuilt , but after the speed bump it worked. September 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kensington 42" Ceiling Fans are great! These ceiling fans look great and are well made. We are happy to have purchased them! October 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hunter fan I cannot say enough about Hunter fans! I just bought a house, and I have a Hampton bay ceiling fan in my kitchen, and when I turn it on high, it shakes like a leaf! But not my new Hunter fan!! Quiet as a mouse and no wobbling! Woo hoo! Best fans ever! I'll never buy a different brand for ceiling fans! September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement Fan for Master Bathroom This fan was a replacement for our prior Hunter 32" white fan. The installation was easy for us, since we have hung the majority of the Hunter fans in our house. The new Hunter fan didn't require any balancing of the fan blades. It has added color and warmth to our Master Bathroom, as well as excellent ventilation. Therefore we highly recommend this fan. December 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good purchase Very satisfied with the fan. The lighting is dim for a big bedroom. January 6, 2015
