Answer:
I've successfully installed fans with short down rods on sloped ceilings. However, I've never had the need to install a flush mount fan on such a ceiling. After looking more closely at my two installations, I would not be inclined to do it. It does not appear that there is enough clearance to accommodate the angle that a sloped ceiling would require. This is only an educated guess. Good luck.

Answer:
I would not think so since there is no provision for hanging at an angle. Inside the motor sits on a platform that would not accommodate something other that horizontal.

I'm not crazy about the light fixture but like the low profile, quiet motor and efficiency of this fan.

Yes, you can, but keep all of your receipts just to be on the safe side. It is a great fan which is a good deal, cost wise.

They have no options for the lights and the light themselves are specialized "two pin" bulbs.

Hello ACS,
Unfortunately, since the Low Profile (52062) model fan is manufactured with a light kit, you will not be able to replace it.

I do not like CFL bulbs and am having a hard time finding Hunter indoor ceiling fans (42"-48") with globe lights that use LED bulbs and that operate very quietly.

Answer:
You can, but I had to purchase LED adapters since the bulbs it takes have two pins and are not the typical screw in base. After using the adapters I could use typical sized LED bulbs.

Hello RMN,
You can use LED bulbs on the Low Profile model fan but you will need to use the equivalent wattage as the CFL bulbs that the fan comes with. Have a great day!

Answer:
Regular ceiling fans are suspended down about a foot, more or less, depending upon which model you purchase. A low profile fan is not suspended, but is flush with the ceiling. Other than that, there is no difference.

It is 5 inches closer to the ceiling than the older one thus more headroom and less interference with the room space.

Hi Vic58! This fan is a flush mount fan, meaning it should be mounted flush to your ceiling. These fans are best for low ceilings. We hope this helps!

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 65 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Purchase Overall the fan was good from an installation and looks perspective. Pros - 1. Good appearance 2. Quiet fan Cons - 1. the fan speed control string is a bit hard to pull, not convenient for kids 2. the light bulb is a special type which is non-dimmable and that was an issue with us. We had already installed the dimmer, but it won't work and we looked at the box and it said it is non-dimmable. We have to live with the current light till it runs out and replace it later. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan Love the fan, just wish the light had the dimming option like our previous fan/light did. August 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Design for Glass Install Up to the point of installing the glass light cover (globe), it was great- very easy to install. HOWEVER, the so-called "globe keeper" was not designed well. It was barely larger than the opening in the globe, and was not stiff enough. First, it wouldn't hold the globe in place. Then, because it wasn't large enough, one leg slipped inside the globe so that when I tightened the Finial, the glass globe cracked. Hunter would accept no responsibility for this defective design, and I had to pay for a new globe. ($39.99 delivered) To me, this makes this product unacceptable. Unless you want to use this fan without the lighting, STAY AWAY. July 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great fan great buy, quiet and really moves the air. But, it does take two $7.50 each to replace bulbs. Two come with the fan. August 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ceiling fan for bedroom Overall, I really like this fan. Design is stylish, it's very quiet, and installation only took about an hour (although I should note that someone very handy installed it for me!). The only downside was that one of the included bulbs didn't work and we had to buy a replacement ($10) from the hardware store. March 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very saisfed we purchased and installed three of these in our house. they call it low profile because there is no pole, but it is substantial in size, especially with the light fixture globe. it looks good and does everything we need, for a reasonable pirce. August 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good product- I have four other Hunter fans I am happy with, but this one sucks The fan comes with two light bulbs, but one was broken. I have searched for a week and cannot find the bulb required, except for on line with a 9.95 shipping charge. Also the chains for the light and fan go thru the middle of globe. The chains are always twisted and do. To work. Horrible design July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a "fan"tastic fan! I can't say enough great things about Hunter fans! I made it a point to go thru all of the product reviews when choosing new fans for both my living room and kitchen. This replaced a ceiling fan in my kitchen that wobbled when set to any speed other than 'slow'. I paid an electrician to install it and to remove the old fan; I also paid for the remote control feature, which he installed on my wall. I really enjoy this fan; it is not only lovely to look at, it also is good quality and is sturdy, no matter what speed it is set on. We have had a strange Summer in Portland, Oregon, where is has gone from hot to cold and back again in a matter of days. I've been able to turn this fan up to it's highest speed and can stand beneath it, feeling the great temperature change, which spreads thru out my kitchen. I have no concerns with leaving it turned up until late at night or even overnight, if need be. The light is nice and bright but not overwhelming. It makes a great difference when I am doing dishes on a warm or hot day, cooling the air behind and around me to make my chore easier. My only regret is that I didn't put the remote on a different wall and have to remember to use it instead of using the light and speed cords that hang from the fan. If I use those instead of the remote control, it does effect the speeds that the remote can change the fan to and I have to reset it again, which is actually no big deal. I've had to explain this to my sister, who will turn the fan off at the other wall, using the light switch; I then have to adjust the light and speed controls again, usually at the most inopportune times. It is another great Hunter product, of excellent value, as far as I'm concerned. August 8, 2016
