CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by For the money, a great fan! I stay far away from store brands because after dealing with Hunter and the other fans, these excel in every way. I don't understand the reason the box says "5 minute fan" on the box. the only thing that takes 5 mins is opening the box and removing the contents. other than that this is a high quality built fan, the blades attach well and require less screwing due to the quick-connect feature they have worked out. It looks great, performs quietly and cools as it ought to. I have two of these in my house. One in my master bedroom and one in the dining room. I'd buy another if i needed one. For the price this fan cant be beat. the bulbs that come with the fans ARE dim as they are the politically correct CFL garbage but all you have to do is replace them with a good bulb. No big issue there. The thing that really sells me on this brand is the high quality parts and i usually end up with extra grommets and screws because they put them in the box not because i miss a step. I like that. Rated 2 out of 5 by Good Fan but.... This is a good fan. But it WOBBLED a lot. It moved a lot of air. I DON'T THINK HUNTER IS THAT GREAT!!!! We replaced it with a Hampton Bay Cameron when we moved out of the house. September 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hunter Fan Installation did not take 5 minutes, but I knew that was impossible going in. Anyone who thinks a fan will take 5 minutes to install has never installed one. The installation was not that difficult though, I installed in the low profile mode, with a remote control box and it took me under an hour. Granted, I have done this before, and I have more skill than the average Joe, but I didn't have issues with screws fitting, or any of the other problems listed here. Fan is quiet, light is perfect for a bedroom, and it looks great. Great value for the money. December 9, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Fan, Looks good, great value I'm not sure why anyone would have a hard time installing this fan. It's not five minutes, maybe 15 or 20 if you read the directions. No fan comes with mounting screws for your electrical box anymore. You should have screws that came with the box that will work just fine. The shape of the blades make this thing look classier than others in the price range IMO making it the best buy of the price group. March 28, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice fan, but difficult to install We purchased several of these fans as the home we just purchased already had two of them installed. I laughed at the 5 minute install claim on the box , having installed fans before and knowing how inconvenient it is. I was right, it took about an hour and a half, although some of the blame lies with me not taking advantage of a good design feature, namely the hinges on the mounting plate. After opening the box and identifying the order of installation, I set about the install. I had to add a 24" extension because we have high ceilings. There is more than enough wire to accomodate the 24" and it may actually be enough for 48". After installing the base plate and connecting the wiring I attached the fan to the base plate. Note to others: Hang the light from the plate first and you won't have to fight holding the fan while trying to wire it up. The other posters are partly correct. The screws don't fit the predrilled holes if you do not put them in at EXACTLY the right angle. Unfortunately, the holes in the fan cover are just slightly different, so after much struggle, I only managed to get two of the screws in their holes. On the 3rd screw I opted to use a wood type screw with a coarse thread. Problem solved. A side note, you have to take care when swinging the fan mounting flange into place on the the mounting plate or you could pinch wires and short the unit. as mentioned in another review. This is not necessarily a problem with the fan, but with the installer not paying attention. After all this the light fixture attached easily, and blade installation was a snap, literally. I was a little skeptical at first, but the blades seem to function just fine and the fan is well balanced. It is silent and moves a lot of air, which we appreciate. I would recommend this fan easily, just ignore the 5 minute fan stuff on the box. Set your expectaions somewhat lower. February 7, 2012
