Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by srt Disappointing For 'Hunter' Brand!
Just replaced a generic 21 year old fan (also 52" standard 3-speed) with this new Hunter and am somewhat disappointed. Although I realize this is one of Hunter's cheap or economy priced fans (as compared to their expensive original cast iron fans), I thought "Hunter" was still supposed to be one of the top of the line ceiling fan companies. The fan looks fine, is quiet and wobble free. HOWEVER, there are basically two problems with the fan - one that hopefully is easily fixed associated with the lighting; and the second, which is a major problem as it pertains to the fan speed or air movement and CANNOT be fixed or worked around. Issue #1 - I do not like the lighting provided by the four 40-watt regular incandescent candelabra light bulbs - not bright enough and light is too yellowish or brownish (guess what is called a warm light). This should be easy enough to rectify by experimenting with some LED candelabra bulbs, so no big problem. Issue #2 - Compared to my old fan the 3 speeds on this Hunter are all slower, maybe by a quarter percent. As an example hi-speed appears to be somewhere between my old fan's medium and hi-speeds, the medium speed somewhere between my old fan's low and medium speeds, and well the Hunter's low speed is basically useless as it is so slow to the point that you cannot feel any air movement at all when standing directly beneath it, leaving you essentially with a 2-speed fan! I guess the last thing to note is the angle of the blades relative to the ceiling. On my old fan there was a slight downward tilt, which I thought was standard on basically all ceiling fans, but on this new Hunter the blades appear to be totally level or parallel to the ceiling. I'm not an aerodynamics expert, but I can see how a design of this nature can impact air flow. Again I am talking about the blade angle relative to the ceiling, not the rotational angle or pitch of the blades. Assuming I can find some LED or other type of bulbs that will provide adequate lighting I will probably keep this fan as it is in a bedroom, as opposed to a main living area like the family den, etc. And I may even still purchase Hunter in the future as I have a couple of other 20(+)-year old fans that could go out at any time, but I will definitely NEVER purchase this particular 'Studio' model again as I want a true 3-speed fan as opposed to a slowed down 2-speed fan!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ETH Needed a New Ceiling Fan/Light
When my ceiling fan/light in my kitchen lost it's fan capability I had an electrician come look at - he told me he was not able to repair fan or replace it. Since I needed to buy a new one I went with the make / model I already had. An electrician did the installation - and it appeared he had no trouble at all installing it. It's quiet, gives good light, cools room as expected. Would recommend to others.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Oldlady Needfs additional parts
I returned this fan. The description on the Home Depot web page said that it was suitable for sloping and level ceilings. The installation instructions clearly state that if you have a sloping ceiling the 3 inch downrod included with the fan must be replaced with a longer downrod. The shortest downrod available on the manufacturer's web cite was 12 inches meaning that the fan would hang way too low in my room to be useful. I even called the manufacture's help line. The additional expense for the replacement downrod also made the cost of the fan much less attractive.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HT Fan wobble and RPM problems
These fans have lots of wobble after they are assembled and hung. The fan comes with a wobble kit, but I wasn't able to completely eliminate the wobble after making balance adjustments per the instructions provided. I spent over 3 hours. Helpful hint, hang the fan without the fan blades/irons installed and run the fan at high speed. If the motor housing has any wobble, return the fan. You cannot balance out this manufacturing defect. Finally, on the high speed fan setting, my old fans rotated at an RPM speed that was 150% faster than this Hunter fan. The Hunter fan barely generates enough of a breeze to be of any benefit, which means I have to lower the temperature on my air conditioner thermostat. Both the Hunter fan and my old fan have the same size motor housing, so the Hunter fan's motor design leaves something to be desired from a performance stand point.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MAK Light would not work
The light portion of this fan would not work. We check every possible reason and could still not get it working.
We had to disassemble everything in order to return it to Home Depot

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by COD Hard to find Brass Hunter Ceiling Fan
We have brass Hunter ceiling fans through out our home. It became necessary to replace our kitchen fan and were finally able to order another Hunter brass fan through Home Depot. The removal of the old fan and the replacement of the new one was completed without any problems. We are very pleased with our new fan.

Fairly easy assembly and installation. Works beautifully and very quiet. I wasn't crazy about the glass shades so I replaced them. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it.
