Customer Questions & Answers

is this a low profile fan?

Asked by: Anonymous
What do you mean by low Profile? It is a standard ceiling fan with 3 " suspender rods from the ceiling. The motor and blades have the ususal size. The bottom below the blades is about 3 ", which according to the installation instructions allows for an opzional light fixture.

I want to order Hunter summer breeze white ceiling fan model 25517

When checking the page it says this fan can only be ordered on line, and that it is out of stock. I wanted to order two of these fans and have store pick up, how long will this item be out of stock on line or do you have this item in stock in the store ?
Asked by: Anonymous
I had the same problem. I wanted the Mariner fan, but it has not been in stock for the past year, finally settled for this one, but it is a great fan.

Customer Reviews

Summer Breeze 52 in. White Ceiling Fan-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cant go wrong with Hunter Brand. My previous house had Hunter fans throughout and they worked great. Quiet, moved a lot of air, no wobble. The date code was 2001 on those. Just bought a new home. The fans all needed replaced so I went with Hunter. No disappointment with the quality and operation of the newer style fans. Still quiet, reliable, moves good air, and no wobble. My only complaint is the new style mounting system. On the older models you had 2 options....1. Screw mount the base that goes on the ceiling to the motor housing....2. Downrod mount. On the new models you have no choice but to do a downrod mount. So no matter what you have the rounded triangle shaped piece exposed instead of hidden like the old models were. This doesn't effect the operation but it does make a for a less cleaner appearance. Other than that it functions flawlessly and the updated styling on the switch housing and the hidden blade mounts look great. Gives the fan a modern retro look.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hunter Fans always good I have had several other brands of fans. THE ONLY FAN I WILL PUT ABOVE MY BED IS A HUNTER. It is a nice fan, very quiet. It does not wobble at all! Hunter has two grades of fans. I always go for the better one.Only complaint is their lights are too expensive. You can buy a Harbor Breeze fan with a light for $39. I have one in my office and it is actually a good fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good, basic fan that works This replaces a 42" other-brand fan with light kit. It emitted a loud hum, and didn't move enough air for the 15' x 12' space. The Hunter, in my house, makes a faint hum that is not at all objectionable, and stirs just the right amount of air at even the low speed. Installation was trickier than Hunters I've installed in the past. Some of the diagrams aren't quite clear enough, but I figured it out. The hanging hook needs to be oriented the right way, and I wasn't sure.... Also, the instructions tell you to drill holes in the electrical box to accommodate two long wood screws. Since I was replace an existing fan, I just used the two existing protruding screw shafts to which I attached the new fan's plate. This fan does not come with a light kit, and I don't want one, as I don't like the quality of light they emit. Overall I am very happy with this fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love this fan This fan is very quiet. The installation at times took some thinking. It could have been a little more clear, but it came together very good. I would recommend this fan. I went from a four blade to this five blade. It moves the air very well. I am impressed at how well balanced it is. They included a balancing kit with it, but it was not needed. There is no wobble even at high speed. I use the medium speed for my needs, but it is nice to know it will run at full speed with no problems if I ever need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Quiet Fan Love this fan. It's pretty to look at and blends into my bedroom ceiling well. I can't hear it at all on two lowest settings. On the highest setting you hear the quiet whoosh of the blades. It took my handyman over two hours to pull out the old fan and install this one in its place. I also love the remote. I'm like the Queen of Sheba turning the fan on and off from my bed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 52 " Ceiling Fan The Hunter 52" White Summer Breeze Ceiling Fan was fairly easy to install. The mounting plate was such that I could match existing holes in an old ceiling. All the parts and pieces of the entire fan assembly were there, and easily recognizable. The fan runs smooth and quite. Robert C

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice that it has 5 blades. Have used Hunter Fans over 20 years. They've been quiet except I had one that I could hear a "tic tic tic" sound. Now this new one, when it's on, I can hear the hum of the motor. I don't remember hearing that on the others I've bought. Must be that I have extra good hearing????

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's exactly what I wanted it to be. I chose white because I wanted it to disappear and it makes no noise at all. I had it installed by my electrician. I'm very pleased.
