Answer:
Yes it will. You may have to simply program it according to the included instructions using your previously installed receiver. However, if your receiver is bad, then simply install the new receiver and use with either remote. Simple.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I installed 4 of these 3 years ago. Installation was a bit tricky with other brand fan, but easy enough to figure out. All the fan wires were labelled. Great for the whole family to use, just need to keep track of the remote with the young ones. Only issue is when you have a power outage, when the power comes back on, the lights come on. First time it happened when I was away and thought someone had been in my house. Because the light switch or power is on all the time, when the power comes back on so does the light, but not the fan. Always know when the power goes off, a bit unnerving when it happens in the middle of the night and you are sleeping. Just bought a new house and going to get 4 more units for it. January 4, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Died after two years with minimal usage Problem: The fan's lights come on after I turn on the wall switch. Nothing else works. Steps to fix the issue: 1. Replaced the battery on the remote; the LED on the remote was working 2. Turned the wall switch off for a minute and turn it back on, pressed 1 and 3 button together and hold it for 5 seconds as instructed on the remote. Nothing happens. 3. Checked the dip switch on the remote. Repeated step 2, no luck. Some people mentioned that receiver unit is poorly made, I am assuming that it is the case. A universal fan remote that costs 40 USD, this unit should have at least 5 years warranty. My next step is to remove the receiver and run the fan without a remote. I cannot recommend this product due to such short lifespan. October 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great remote I love this remote! I've had it for years, in fact I had one, lost it and made my husband go buy a new one to replace it. We just bought a new house and I am buying this remote again. I can't speak to the installation aspect, because my husband did that part. But I keep the remote on my side of the bed at all times (which is how the first one was lost :( probably fell in the trash). I know when we would put it in wall cradle we knocked it down sometimes, but that was because of where we put it relative to the light switch. I'm surprised to hear others had such difficulties! As for appearance, when I look at the other ones I think they are ugly, I like mine, it's silver, although I'm not trilled with the new color that looks kind like taupe. Otherwise it's a great product! May 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Awful We bought this when we replaced the ceiling fan in our daughter's room. We wish we had kept the old remote as it was working fine and this one is awful. First, the buttons are hard to locate in the dark. Second, the handheld part is so light and flimsy, it flies out of your hand. Third, it has failed numerous times and we've had to change the batteries far more than use would require. Finally, our daughter dropped it and the parts separated. After putting it back together, it doesn't work at all. We are done with it and are replacing it. November 26, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hunter remote controls are seriously flawed This is the second Hunter remote control I've owned and they've both been terrible. The first model would occasionally turn the fan or light on by itself. I tried different dip switch settings but that didn't help. With this model, I turn the lights on and set to full brightness. Within a few minutes, the lights will dim. When I called Hunter service, I was on hold for 30 minutes before my call was answered. The service representative was completely clueless about the product and any information she provided was read, word - by - word, from a service manual. And worse still, the information was incorrect. No more Hunter remotes for me! Their engineers and service reps need to go back to school (speaking as an engineer myself.) November 29, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Worked okay for a few years Installed and used this remote for a few years. I could never prove it, but always suspected this unit was the reason for the lights burning out within a week or so of use, replaced them a few times and eventually went without lights. Now the fan doesn't work when connected to the unit. The light on the remote comes on, but nothing happens. I removed the receiver, the fan works. Install the receiver again, fan doesn't work. It worked okay for a few years, but will have to replace today. April 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Turns light ON after power outage Bought this remote for my 2-year-old's room. A week later during a thunderstorm at night, our power went out and when it came back on the light turned on and woke her up. What a terrible design! Not only is this remote going to wake you up at night if the power is interrupted, if you happen to be on vacation and that happens, it's going to waste electricity until you get home. (Yep, I checked the user manual and in the fine print it says that's what it does, so this is the way it's designed--I didn't get a faulty remote.) June 29, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money and time The remote worked fairly well for a while. However, the design of the cradle is so poor that both my wife and I have repeatedly knocked the transmitter out of the cradle when turning the lights on or off, the last time resulting in the remote no longer working. If you're looking for a product that takes a long time to install, works well for a few weeks, then fails because of poor design, this is the item for you. March 1, 2014
