Customer Questions & Answers

socket rail says the length is 21 inches...I must be reading that incorrectly. Please confirm the socket rail's length in inches. Thank you.

Asked by: milwaukeeroad
they are not 21 inches. I have not measured them, but from memory I would say approx 12 inches

Do the ball bearings fall out of the plastic holders?

I have an identical looking product that could be a cheap clone. However, steel springs and ball bearings in plastic doesn't sound like a great idea. Have you seen issues with the balls popping out of the plastic and then not being able to stay in because the plastic has "stripped"?
Asked by: Flash
The ball bearings have not fallen out, but I just bought them last month

Is it possible to buy the clips separate? I would like more jut don't want to keep buying the full rails.

Asked by: Bird
I found a seller who sells extra clips (1/4", 3/8", or 1/2") in quantities of 6 for around five and half, so you might be better just buying extra rails and then sliding them off. I mixed different sizes from all 3 rails on one rail to get all my sockets on 3 rails after I purchased 4 rails.

Is it possible to get individual socket holders?

Hi, I have several of these Husky Socket Rails, in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" sizes. In order to get all my sockets (from another socket kit that was given as a gift) packed onto rails, I need a few individual socket holders. I need 2 individual socket holders for my last two 1/2" sockets (that I would slip onto my existing 1/2" rails), and 3 individual socket holders for my last three 1/4" sockets (same thing: that I would slip those 3 socket holders and sockets onto my existing 1/4" rails). I'd hate to have to buy two whole new socket rails, with a total of 20 socket holders but being only able to use 5 of them. Any assistance you can provide? Thanks,.
Asked by: Nickname
I realize it's been some time since this question was asked but being that I was just presented with it, I'd like to respond. I would buy the extra rails so that you may complete your growing set. You can't go wrong having a few extras around especially should one or two or so ever get damaged as you increase your socket inventory. Also, please know, some complete specialty socket sets (such as security torx) may only incorporate a few sockets. I hope my suggestion helped. Good luck.

1/4 in. Drive Socket Rail is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great way to organize sockets I've been keeping all my tools in a small 11" x 5" x 4" metal tool box and when I needed it a certain socket, it meant taking out half of the tools and finding the plastic bag with the right sockets. Then I decided to get better organized and bought a bigger metal tool box. To organize the sockets, I purchased 4 Husky rails: 1/4-inch, 1/2-inch and 3/8-inch (Qty 2). I was easily able to remove unused socket holders and even condense the 4 rails to 3 rails with a few socket holders left over (for future needs?). All the sockets sit in the top tray of the tool box now. For the money, the value is great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great way to organize sockets I've been keeping my collection of sockets in a small metal 11"x5"x4" tool box that was filled to the top over the years. Whenever I needed a socket, it usually meant dumping half the tools out and looking for the plastic bag that had in this case all the 1/4" sockets. Then I decided to get organized with a bigger tool box and opted to purchase this Husky socket rail. All my 1/4" sockets fit nicely on it and are easy to find. I removed the unused socket holders and have since added another one back (1/4 to 3/8 adapter). They all sit in the top tray of my bigger metal tool box

They are a good match for the husky socket sets although it would be nice if they included 11 or 12 holders even if it meant raising the price a bit. I bought 3 of these to house two Husky 11-piece socket sets (sae and metric) and both those sets came with 11 pieces so I had to buy a third rail to get a few extra holders. But with the low price on these even with that these are still a no brainer for me. The husky socket sets I had came with some pretty nice rails but these are a bit more compact and my socket drawer is about at the max on what it will hold now. These let me pack more in and still keep things orderly. I have these in all 3 sizes now and they are great. I've had a few other kinds of holders but I really like these. They hold the sockets well enough without being so tight they are hard to remove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall Good Buy Made from a durable plastic, the rail appears to be able to hold up to abuse. It's also nice that the socket holders are interchangeable with the 3/8in. and 1/2in. Husky rails. That makes them useful for sets that change drive sizes, such as Torx or Hex sets. I'll be buying more as I purchase more tools.

I like the flexibility to be able to lay in a tool drawer or hang from a peg board. The top feature is ball bearing that holds the socket in place, but allows for easy removal. I bought all 3 sizes for my 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" sockets and they all work well.
