Customer Questions & Answers

What's the psi on this tank?

Asked by: DC
The gauge on the photo of the operator's manual appears to redline at less than 150 PSI. Is this just an old photo? It does state Max 150 PSI on the website view of the tank.

can you use this to fill your paintball tank
Asked by: bobsmith
As someone mentioned already you cannot use this to fill an HPA paintball tank. If you really want to fill your HPA tank at home look at a product called the Shoebox Compressor. It let's you use a standard shop compressor (outputting at 125psi-150psi) to fill up a tank to 3000psi or 4500psi.

Can I use to blow up balloons

Asked by: Aurora
You could, but it would probably be better to use the air compressor that you use to fill up the portable air tank. The output pressure on an air compressor is adjustable, the tank is not; it's output pressure is related to the volume of air present in the tank.

10 Gal. Portable Air Tank is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy tank, modified as an auxilary tank for my air sytem setup Great item to keep around in order to inflate tires and other objects that are a distance from your compressor. Don't expect it to completely fill tires that are very low on air, meant more for topping off your tires that might be a little low. I modified my tank so that I could still use it as a portable option but so it could also act as an auxiliary tank to my 29 gallon air compressor setup. Removing the stock fill valve was tough but manageable. I plugged one of the taps with a 1/8in NPT plug, added a 1/4in NPT Tee tap and from there added a quick connect female coupler, and a male quick connect fitting on an ball valve. To fill my tank I use the male fitting and open the ball valve, once filled just close the ball valve and off you go, using the female coupler for the air tool of your choice. When I need to use this tank in-line with my larger compressor setup I just attaching it to my larger tank and leave the ball valve open. This tank is also a great value. Sure Harbor Freight might have their 5 and 11 gallon portable tank options that are a bit cheaper but they are only rated for 125psi while this Husky tank can handle 150psi. Since I specifically wanted an auxiliary tank option and my air systems goes to 150psi this Husky tank was the best choice.

That being said, I have three complaints. First, the "bicycle pump" filler nozzle failed after one tire. It wasn't that it didn't work; it just require too much pressure to be actuated by a valve stem. Second, the filling mechanism is basically a tire stem attached to the tank. Since I wanted unattended filling, this did not work for me. Third, there is a lot of loose debris in the tank which I can hear rattling around. While this probably won't be a problem, I dread the day it makes its way through the system and clogs the stem on one of my vehicles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I had to return the first one of these air... I had to return the first one of these air tanks as the valve on the tank and the hose were defective. The second tank valve on the tank was fine (I had it checked at the store.) but the hose was bad. I had another air hose so I used it and am very happy with my purchase. The price for this tank was excellent given its size. If you decide to buy this tank, plan on buying a separate air hose and inflation chuck, (I think it would still be a good deal.)

The paint coating is very well done and shold last a very long time. The gauge works prefectly and the valve is very clearly marked and easy to use. The price at Home Depot was the best.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Schrader valve was a fraction too short to allow... Schrader valve was a fraction too short to allow the tank to be filled from any source. The air chuck would not allow air to pass into any and all tires I tried to top off. Instead of hauling the tank back for a refund it was easier to effect repairing it myself at a cost of $18.00.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great accessory!! Product was delivered as committed. I use it to inflate tires and to blow out A/C drain lines. I also have used it blow off my table saw when I am working without my compressor. It is a great accessory to the shop!
