Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Walt This product serves a temporary purpose for me
I use the 6-mil poly sheeting to skin my winter greenhouse, which I heat on nights forecasted to drop below 40 degrees. While this product doesn't have UV inhibitors in it and will start to degrade after about 6 months exposed to direct sunlight, it does serve the purpose for me -- and at a far less expense than UV rated poly.

6 mill plastic sheeting very strong but creases in plastic tear.
Used for carport, or greenhouse, or any outdoor enclosure and the seams / creases will split open / tear apart where the plastic is folded to fit into shipping box. The plastic itself will last very long... just not at the folded creases.
I enclose a carport every year for last 10 years and have noticed this issue in the last couple of years.
Maybe the company uses a different process to roll and package plastic rolls.
I last 10+ years the price has doubled and, now, this new issue with splitting plastic at creases.
I would recommend if they revert back to previous packaging process.

Bought this product to cover a green house frame. Happy with the thickness (6ml) but with that thickness comes some light loss. I was able to staple and fasten the plastic to my satisfaction. Hopfully I will get two years out of the plastic before it needs replaced.

used the sheeting to cover a screen porch to keep the weather from our patio furniture. was easy to install the thickness of the sheeting was strong enough to keep out the strong winds and rain and snow. have not had any tears or rips due to the winds or rain.

Seriously? Perhaps someone could read the reviews and delete the ones that obviously have nothing at all to do with the product they are posted on?!!! If your plastic sheeting "reaches 600 degrees in under 10 minutes" there is a huge problem with your product! I have personally bought at least 4 rolls of this stuff and it has never reached a temp higher than that of the area in which it is located. (I've been using it in the crawl spaces under my house to block moisture transfer though I also used it to keep an outdoor construction project dry) I suppose if used to cover a plant shelter it might allow the temps to rise a bit more than outside however if it reaches 600 degrees inside I'm pretty sure this stuff will melt since it is plastic sheeting! As for the "color", it's not clear enough to see through however it isn't a solid white. It is opaque. It will let light through. It will allow you to see what is going on on the other side of it to some degree just not in detail. It is not as clear as window glass.

I have my porch enclosed by this polyethylene sheeting and it keeps snow and rains off my porch and my living room warmer as the porch is the length of my living room.
I strongly urge the use of this product for winter protection.
