First off, I don't care for nylon belts or the padded add on. I'm old fashioned and just wanted top grain pouches and a leather belt. With that being said even after buying a leather belt separately this was still less expensive by a fair amount than the craftsmans I was used to. The pouches hold a ton of stuff well and seem durable. I've had mine for a year and a half and use it for roofing, framing primarily and some interior remodeling in the side. It's held up just fine. The padded belt is a nice touch but where I like my pouches wasn't an option due to the loops so I ditched it.

mipohlka is absolutely right. The padded underbelt cannot be adjusted to less than 38 inches. At 38 inches the tip of the Velcro overlay portion is jammed against the belt loop on the right side. This is instantly evident if you try it on. Otherwise, it seems like a good carpenter's tool belt if you like the old fashioned light weight soft leather variety.
I suppose the belt can be made to fit those with a smaller waist but that would mean cutting off part of the left side of the padded underbelt. I rate it 4 stars because it is very close to what I want.

Solid belt, plenty of storage options. Other reviewer apparently doesn't realize the belt is ADJUSTABLE. His probably fell apart from not adjusting it correctly to his waist causing the pouches to sag and put weight on loops that are meant as guides not weight support. Also comes with a 3 year warranty. Love this belt the Velcro foam protectant belt makes it very comfortable and feel like a lot less weight on the belt than what there is.
Also, i am 36 waist fits tight with plenty of room to adjust more.

Within a month the loops holding the pad were all busted, but I made do with zip-ties and made it last. then about a month later the stitching separating the inside pouches on the right side all came apart. Then finally the holes for the belt buckle came off and stretched from hole to hole. If your waist is under a 38 don't bother with this belt because it doesn't go any smaller then that.
