You'll save your arm and use less effort by getting a longer bow saw. Once this gets a bit of wood resin or otherwise starts to dull, this short saw becomes squirrely and hard to handle. This is not a fault of the brand, but of the shortness of the bow; too short for the teeth to deliver a smooth stroke. You can save $2 now by not buying the longer 21" bow saw, but you'll have also wasted all your money, because replacement blades are impossible to find.
-Poor stocking of replacement blades
-Buy the 21" bow saw, or lopping shears

Why would a company sell a good product and not extra wood/pruning blades for it. Can somebody explain how that makes any sense?

Nice product, but poor store support as they didn't carry spare Bowsaw blades in my Chester, VA store. Poor service to sell something without the spare parts needed to maintain it.

I ordered 20 of these saws for a cut your own christmas tree operation. We have used these saws for 4 years. We like the saws very much. They do the job and hold up well. The saws were in excellent condition. Packaging was something else. The cardboard shipping box was twice the size that it should have been and was not strong. To fill the extra space they used plastic air bags. 3/4 of the air bags were broken. Surprize surprize saws have sharp teeth. Consequently the box had no internal support and as a result of this the box took a beating and had been taped together several times.
