Use the handle provided. There is a small nut on the front face of the jack. Turn the nut and the jack should lower.

Answer:
There is a small release valve that you need to loosen (to the left of the pump) using the jack handle. Very similar to many jacks of this size.

Answer:
Assuming that you have not reached the maximum lifting height, which I doubt. Then I suggest taking it back or obtaining a warranty claim.

2-1/2-Ton 5,000 lb. Low Profile Jack is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good for 2 uses. Broke on 3rd use. The first time I used it, it was just fine. Second time, had some difficulty moving the arm up and down, which I thought was unusual. I had used a cheap red jack from another company for over ten years and it was never that difficult. As I tried to raise my car a third time, a u-shaped metal piece coupling the arm to a little piston pulled off the little piston. Jack is now jacked. Totally useless. I raise my car maybe once every year so the warranty was out when it broke. Home Depot support tells me they can't repair or exchange it. I'm stuck with this useless piece of garbage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Garbage I purchased this product earlier today, and wish I had read some reviews beforehand. I tired jacking up my girlfriends Nissan Altima just to see how well the jack would do. It went up fine enough and I didn't have any issues there. However, we I brought it down it would not go all the way and remained stuck in the little indention under the body for jacking. I ended up unscrewing the relief valve all the way to no avail. Then used her scissor jack just to get it out from under the car. Afterwards I tried to screw the relief valve in and it won't even do that now. I will be returning this as soon as possible. safe yourself the heart ache and avoid this one

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought for low profile - using to lift up furniture to move it around while installing flooring. ... Bought for low profile - using to lift up furniture to move it around while installing flooring. Used the jack once, and it leaked oil, but functioned. Lowering was jerky. On second use, leaked puddle of oil and won't raise. Nut you turn to lower jack has stripped threads. This is very cheaply made and poorly designed. Will be returning.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor lowering characteristics This floor jack is nothing special. It lifts a car just fine but it is jerky in lowering the vehicle. It will drop the car suddenly for an inch or so before smoothly lowering. Have had other jacks that were off brand, cheaper and worked better.
