This Allway Tools 2-1/2 in. Scraper is 11 1/2" long and has a rubber handle to make it easy on the hands. It comes with one Carbide blade that is 2 1/2" wide and used to remove paint off wood surfaces. Not sure if it would work on metal. With the long handle you can apply good pressure on it. It also has a 1 3/4" round nob on the other to help apply pressure. The blade is fixed so there is no adjusting the angle or length. The blade work perfect for the DIY person. Not sure if heavy duty enough for the professional. You can purchase replacement blades at HD. If going to do a lot of scraping I would recommend to purchase a replacement blade. It comes with a lifetime warranty.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Debbie best scraper I ever used!
Me and my husband are scraping the outside of our house and we had used other scrapers but this one here was a very good purchase! I love it, it scrapes the paint off so easy!

I originally bought this tool to help remove the heavy varnish build up from the teak on my sailboat and it worked really well for this application. I also use it in my shop to remove varnish, shellac and old paint from pieces of furniture I'm refinishing. The handle design makes this tool easy to work with over longer periods. (less fatigue) The design also helps working it into most tight spots a breeze.
Oh, and I have yet to wear the blade out. I've owned it for almost a year and use it a good bit compared to other scrapers I own. It's starting to get a bit dull but still works well and HD carries replacement blades so that's a bonus.

Im currently working on a crew removing lead paint. The handle itself was very durable and we are removing lots and lots of paint hard, thick, and old. For the price range I felt it could have done better in terms of the blade. It only lasted a day seriously. Luckily I bought a replacement one which I had to use the next day and same results. So now I am searching for a better replacement blade. Again for home use or moderate to little use it would be great. But for actual working man it's garbage.

We purchased this handy tool hoping it would help us remove our adhesive on our cement front porch, after taking up the 42 year old outdoor carpet. Worked like a charm! Took a little elbow grease, my husband was able to do it much faster than I, but it was successful! Scraped the horrible yellow adhesive right up. Totally recommend this product, for this type of project. We tried a few different things, including boiling water and a smaller scraper. But this was the magic tool! By itself, no water.

mine broke in the middle of the handle, I didn't have much pressure on it when it happened.
worked great for me otherwise
took the broken one back to HD and they swapped it out for a new one with no trouble
if you by one, just be careful of the handle

When I went to try out the scraper, I first had to remove the display card that is used to hang the item in the store. After I had loosened the screw holding the card and the blade, when I pulled the card out the blade came out also and dropped on the concrete floor. When I retrieved the blade it had broken in two parts. So beware.

Gets the job done and doesn't get dull right away. I was able to scrape 4 door frames and 2 doors before I had to replace the blade.
