I know some brands that require you to open the lid before the drawers can be slid out
is it the same with this model or can I just open any of the drawers with the lid down ?

thanks!

Answer:
Yes, the top lid needs to be opene to allow for drawers to slide open. This could be disengaged but I wouldn't because this is what prevents the drawers from sliding forward. This is a typical setup and should not been over ridden for safety reasons.

Answer:
There are five drawer and to include the lid which can store items too. You can store stuff in the lid of the drawers too. The depth is about three and half inches in depth. The first and second drawer depth is about one and a half in inches. The third through the fifth drawer is about two and a half inches in depth too. You can store a lot of tools inside these drawers without any problems.

Choose to keep it as I will rarely see the flaw. There are couple areas where paint is rubbed off during shipping OR it occurred during the damage in the rear. I took a rubber hammer to mine to get most of it out. I agree with others that the shipping materials were a joke, the foam should have been twice as thick. I would recommend the box to the average home owner but wouldn't say it's a professional quality but look at what you are paying. Feel it's a good value, wish it has rubber inserts already installed rather than having to buy and install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this purchase! I was concerned with the "damaged in shipping" reviews. I went to the St. Louis Park, MN store and told this to the gal helping me out. I could not have been treated better. We checked it out before I left and all was well. I really love this toolbox. Sturdy, well built, and just plain pretty. Drawers run smooth, locking device also. Great product and a great staff at Home Depot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with purchase. Very useful I like this product. Bought it with a rolling cabinet. Rating is 4 star because the cabinet was damaged in transit due to poor packaging. There was a small dent in one corner, which I fixed and it does not impact the functionality of the product. I read other reviews that complained about the damage but was willing to take the risk because the product is an excellent buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool box This was a great addition to my 5drawer lower rolling tool box. Lots of room for all of my tools. The drawers slide easily and have a positive lock when you close them. The box was packed very well with no damage whatsoever. I bought this over the husky 4 drawer because it had more than twice the space. Very happy with this toolbox

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Drop much? The toolbox showed up damages and obviously dropped by the multiple dents. I'm required to have one at work so don't have time to unload my tools to drive to nearest Store to return. THANKS HOME DEPOT........toolbox is a great buy though as far as size and overall size.

I looked all over before stumbling into this. There's heavier built boxes out there but there's also lighter ones. Call it just shy of medium duty overall. Don't know if it'd stand up to shop use. It's also a good size upgrade from a more common sized 12" deep 26" chest - the deeper drawers go a long way and it still fits the same spot in my garage pretty well. As always check it for damage. The first one I bought, the cardboard box looked good, but the top was dented slightly and the bottom was so badly bent the drawer wouldn't open. Second one is fine. If I was picking I'd say the drawer retainer system is a little stiff, gotta push pretty hard to shut the drawers all the way. I expect they'll loosen up a little with use. Oh and there's slightly more than 3-1/2" height clearance in the top tray, except for the reinforcement where it says 'HUSKY', and where the struts are. So I could stand my large 1/2 drive deepwells up, up to 36 MM (but barely). Anyway, two thumbs up.

It lets me store and organize all my tools so they are easily found. This box is one of a few I've purchased that allows me multiple storage options that I never used to have. Even on a flat surface, if the drawers aren't locked, the top 2 drawers slide out about an inch. Not a huge problem, but I expected them to stay fully closed. Other than that, I'm pleased.
