You get what you pay for. The "Ball bearing drawer slides" are set in plastic guides, and the rails are thin and flimsy. Do Not over fill with heavy tools. There are 2 drawer lock bars that are hooked to the back of the lid. If you hold all the drawers in with one hand and slowly close the lid with your other hand you have a 50/50 chance of both bars going through all four drawers, then you have to lock it or the lid opens automatically. knowing this going in, I bought it any way. It was cheap, and I beat the heck out of my boxes because I move it in and out of my van every day. Even the high quality boxes are not made to be moved. unfortunately ! Good luck.

I use this for art supplies. This toolbox is perfect for keeping a lot of small things organized in one place. The shallow drawers are perfect for my needs, and the space under the lid is a bonus. The drawers open and close very smoothly - just be aware that your fingers may get a bit greasy when you remove a drawer because of whatever the manufacturers used to keep all the moving parts moving well. But it is nice that you the drawer removal option is there when you need it. The box is not light, but it is sturdy, which is what I wanted. I definitely recommend it.

First one I bought arrived dented and would not sit flat. It was obviously bent. So I returned it and ordered another one thinking it was an isolated incident.
The second one arrived yesterday -- same deal. One side was not even flat, clearly bent. It would not lay flat and there were scuffs and scratches on the lid. Key was very difficult to operate since the box was not square.
These must be customer returns that they are trying to pass off as new. I have now returned two of these, I'm not going to bother taking a chance on a third.

I live in a 2 bed apartment, so I don't need a ton of tool, but do like to have everything I would ever need at my finger tips. I do some light maintenance on my car, work with hobby electronics, and perform a lot of DIY maintenance on my apartment because it's quicker than waiting for the landlord. This gives you an idea of the size of my tool collection. I have a cordless drill, 2 sets of allen wrenches, various screw drivers, hammers, pliers and a ratchet set.
This tool box is perfect for holding the majority of my collection. The bottom drawer looks deeper in the photo here, but is really only 1/2" deeper than the others. My drill doesn't fit in any of the drawers, but that doesn't surprise me. This chest should last me until I buy a house in a few years, at which point I'll buy something more serious.
The quality is exactly what you expect from the Husky brand, decent enough but not for the professional. The box of mine arrived with a crushed corner, but there was no damage to the chest inside. The drawer ball slides are of lower quality, but better than friction slides. The drawers do have quite a lot of side to side wiggle when pulled out, but again that's expected at this price point. The powder coating seems very durable for what I will be exposing it to. My one gripe is the drawers don't really latch and use the handles to unlatch....they seem to have a magnetic or mechanical hold that I'm afraid may deteriorate with time. This is also annoying because the drawers won't latch unless you push them directly in the center or with both hands on either side.
The side handles are subflush to the box sides, which I like a lot...no handles sticking out to catch on stuff. The box feels sturdy when lifted, but is not so heavy I can't haul it around....we'll see how it feels when all my tools are in it. Gas spring lifts on top are surprisingly high quality and do a great job. No drawer liners included, which I prefer, so that I can purchase the kind and color I like. I wanted to line the drawers with a red or orange color to kind of give it some style. The chest comes with some rubber feet to install on the bottom...they look cheap and I suspect I will be replacing them in a year or two depending on how much I move the box around.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Grant214 Great tool box with lot of storage
I wanted to consolidate the majority of my hand tools into one box. The new Husky was a very nice tool box at a great price. I added the drawer liners to keep everything in place and I could not be happier with the purchase.
