how much liner should i need for this

Asked by: jroz
I'm not positive of the square footage, but I bought one of the average size rolls (maybe 6ft. worth), and it wasn't enough to cover it all. I would think 2 average rolls of liner would suffice.

Does open top give space in addition to the top drawer (with an additional bottom sheet) or does it just give access to the top drawer from above?

Asked by: Paul
The top is its own storage compartment. For me, it is tall enough to store cordless drills, drivers, batteries and chargers.

Is this tool box water resistant enough to stay in the back of a truck

Asked by: Bob
Definitely not. There are no seals, gaskets, or anything of the sort to make it water resistant.

You'd think Home Depot would see these reviews and make some changes in the factory/shipping department. Unfortunately, I've had the same experience as many others. I purchased this at my local HD, and having read these and other reviews, asked the sales associate if I could view the unit before taking it home. We opened the box and examined the chest as much as possible without pulling it out of the box. I guess that was my mistake, as sure enough after getting it home and taking it out completely, I found once corner completely bashed in, making it difficult to open and close the lid (plus looking terrible). Also, the three half drawers on the right don't close completely, and the bottom is warped. Great deal on a huge tool chest, but not really worth it, especially considering what a pain it is to bring it back.

Like others, this chest was dented in two places, probably the fault of HD staff trying to move it around. The left lower rear corner was dented in badly and the front lower span was dented upwards. These needed to be fixed in order for the doors to open. Needed to straighten with the help of a 4x4 and mallet. If I didn't get it on sale and it was sold out locally, I would have taken it back for an exchange. This is heavy and weighs in at close to 100lbs. The drawers are really deep and this is a nice box. The only complaint is that you need to open the top to open the drawers. That's just not convenient or practical at times, especially with full hands. For the price, you just can't come close.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Tool Box If you're needing a box this size then I recommend you check this one out. I got a great deal on this one and I am well pleased. If you decide you want to purchase one I recommend you remove it from the box before hauling it home. From other reviews I found out that somewhere in the processing these and other Kobalt boxes are handled roughly. The store had 3 on hand but each one had damage. I ordered one from HD's inventory and got a good one. My only complaint about the box is that it doesn't come with drawer liners. If you need them you will have to purchase them seperately.

Husky tool storage boxes are really nice if you can get one that isn't damaged when you first take it out of the box. I had this shipped to me and it was caved in at the bottom and not one drawer would open. After returning it since they refund you and you then have to buy another I went to my local Home Depot bought another and when I got home that very day I open it and it was caved in at the top. There's no quality control at the factory because they're packed really well and are put in the box damaged. I finally got a floor demo where I could see what I was taking home and I got the demo only because they didn't have any more in stock. I'm not too pleased in how I was treated or how it was handled in this total fiasco by my local Home Depot .

When he opened it we were very disappointed in the quality of the product. It has several dents, scratches and paint chips that make it look unappealing. When I called Home Depot they were willing to give us a full refund and/or replace it for no extra charge - except that they do not have any more in stock. My husband is considering keeping it because the drawers all work but this is not something he would have purchased in its present condition.

I am the wife, I bought him the tool chest to encourage him to clean up his tools. Ha! He loves it, and so I went for the matching rolling cart cause as you can see he is actually cleaning his area in the basement and finally going to finish the room, his room, in the basement with all his tools. I am so excited!! Thank You, I am sure there will be more purchases as he discovers all that he has lost AND FOUND and all he will need. Ha!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Damage Bottom was bent. It did not sit on the cart properly and was wobbly. Not worth trying to return it. I used a shim to level it, worked well. Otherwise a decent piece of gear.

Perfect for home use. I did receive this damaged in an undamaged box. I called Home Depot the next morning & told them about it. They only had 2 more in stock. I asked if they would check to see if one of them was not damaged because I had an hour drive to return it & get one that wasn't damaged. They called me back & said they could replace it with an undamaged one. Cudos to them for doing that. There is obviously a problem on Husky's end. Just give them a chance. It's a great product, just inspect it before you leave the store
