Product Overview

The Husky Metric long, ball-end hex bit socket set is a great addition to any tool box or socket collection. This set comes equipped with 3/8 in. drive bit sockets allowing you to tackle wide a range of projects. Bit sockets give you the advantage of accessing fasteners with the reach and tight arc swing of a ratchet that standard folding or L-keys just can't match.

  • Set includes (7) 3/8 in. drive long, ball-end hex bit sockets: Metric - 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 mm
  • Bit Sockets attach to 3/8 in. drive tools, such as a ratchet or breaker bar, providing a longer handle and more leverage than standard hex keys or screwdrivers
  • Chamfered lead-in sockets and bit help to provide fast and easy placement onto drive tools and fasteners
  • Ball-end design allows the hex keys to be used at an angle to access hard to reach fasteners
  • Bit length is 5 in., socket length is 1 in., overall length if the bit socket is 6 in.
  • Cold formed Chromium-vanadium (Cr-V) steel socket base and Heat Treated S2 Tool Steel Bits for outstanding durability and strength
  • Large hard stamped size markings allow for easy identification of socket size
  • Polished chrome sockets wipe clean easily of oil and dirt
  • Chrome finish provides corrosion resistance and added durability
  • Bits are non replaceable/removable
  • Over torqueing increases the risk of stripping the fastener or causing damage to the bit
  • Plastic storage rail included to keep all your sockets organized and in one location
  • Husky mechanics hand tools are guaranteed forever; if your Husky hand tool ever fails, bring it back and we will replace it free

Answer:
The one I purchased, in store, came with a rack that looked similar. The "rack" is made of plastic (just a molded strip with "nubs" that snap into the 3/8" drive hole on the socket set). Nothing fancy but does hold the set together when stored in a drawer.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your time with these These are not worth the material they are made of. The ball end snapped off on two with minimal force applied. When you try to grind them down you will find that several of them have a different size shaft than the size of the ball end making it useless in a pinch to remove a set screw. I returned them for a refund then I finally gave in and bought a set of Snap On's at 7.5 times the price of these and they have never failed even with a light impact driver. You get what you pay for!! June 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value for money. These long ball-end hex bit sockets are great. The socket itself is well made, they have the little scallop cut inside the drive end to engage the detent on the ratchet. Some cheap off brand tools don't have this and they don't stay on the ratchet very well. The bit itself is made of S2 tool steel which is extremely durable and strong. I've been using these on almost a daily basis and they've held up as well as any of my other more expensive (brand that starts with an S) tools. If this set had a 10MM instead of a 9MM it would be better but for the price I can't complain. For professional auto technicians and shadetree mechanics alike, these are a must have. October 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent set but wheres the 10mm??? I bought these as I needed to get into a tough spot in a pinch. Had a cheap set of HF that just broke off at the ball. These seem a little stronger and Home Depot is great about returning broken hand tools when necessary. Biggest complaint is where is the 10mm? It comes with a 9mm and I haven't ever used one (or seen a 9mm fastener for that matter). Add the 10mm and you get a complete set that's reliable. June 11, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Low quality- broke on first use I love the concept of these tools, but the first one I used snapped off the ball end on the first use. July 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great The product does everything that I need it to be. It is easy to use and easy to store when not in use. May 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gets to those hard to reach spots Just added these to my tool box. These are great for those hard to reach spots that are also a little off angle to the driver (ie. the ball tip design). The tips seem to hold up well. Do note that because of the long length, they will twist a bit so they cannot get screws REALLY tight. They do a good job for certain uses though and because of this, I bought this Metric AND the SAE set. Pick the right tool for the right job! Standard 3/8" drive. January 5, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke with little load Metric 6 socket broke on first use on a torque wrench set to 16 ft/lbs, so basically this set failed at under 16 ft/lbs of force, which is pretty unacceptable. The quality of this tool is very poor. The upside is that Home Depot replaced it free. Second one, however, also broke. Do not purchase if using in applications requiring anything more than hand/light torque. January 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not worth the tool money Tool not worth the time or money. Stripped the hole, turned small project into expensive project for one Allen screw January 13, 2015
