Most of my life I hit situations where the bolt was too long and my socket too short to reach the nut. I had to revert to an open end wrench. Hallaluha, no more!! The pass through socket set is a dream come through. I have already used it multiple time. For instance, on my lawn mower. The bolt for my deck adjustment extend 2" above the nut and it is a tight place. It is very hard to turn an open end wrench. But, with my new pass-though socket, it is a snap. A big time saver and easy on the knuckles. The rachet portion of the set works smoothly and appear to be high quality. As a bonus there is a neat bit set attachmment and bits. It also has a nice rack design to store the set.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by projectdoneyes Works great good beginers set
This set is backed by Husky Tools Lifetime Warranty that is hard to beat. The set includes various sockets and some very useful bits. The Ratchet is of good quality and like the sockets it very sturdy. I have another Husky though set that is SAE that I have for a long time without any issues.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Roger works just fine
The only problem with set is home depot does not sell individual sockets to fit the ratchet. As luck would have it tho
Sears Maxx sockets wrench sockets do fit .I picked one up at sears and it works just fine.make sure you look at the bottom of the sockets and compare to the Husky as there are different kinds of mounting systems.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PropVirgin Go and buy one. It belongs in your tool box.
THIS tool set alone almost help me get through a faucet replacement project. It would be nice to have a shorter ratchet combo for really tight space. I would buy again in a heartbeat.
There is a SAE or MM set, be careful which is which. I got the SAE one without looking.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rambo This is a GREAT Socket Set
This is absolutely Great. No need for deep sockets. It has one extension, but could use a longer one as well. I'm trying to find where I can buy a longer extension.
The last socket set you'll ever need!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by sacherjj Great idea. OK Implementation.
I'll address quite a few aspects of this product, to give you as good an idea of the pros and cons using it. The design replaces the functionality of a traditional socket and ratchet with a hollow design to pass the thread size of the largest size nut handled in the set. This eliminates the need for both a normal and deep well socket and addresses areas where even deep well wouldn't work, such as a nut on long threaded rod.
Packaging: The packaging is great for use as in store demos. This was obviously the main design criteria. It is one of the most frustrating package I have disassembled in quite a while for getting the product out of. It looks like a half hearted effort to also be a tool box storage setup. Except there is no place to store the extension. This is compounded by the fact that the custom socket design won't allow you to use most socket holders that are based on common drive size.
The nut interface side of the socket uses the new universal design, allowing 12-point, 6-point, square, torx and some other types of nut purchase. I've found this to reduce the socket lock that can occur and make it easier to remove the socket after a high torque application. However, there is still occasionally an issue where the socket is removed from the wrench due to sticking on the nut. There is no socket retention setup (usually a push button on the back), as is common with standard socket. All that holds the socket in the wrench is a split ring that captures a land in the socket. I think this could be stronger and worry about it weakening as the wrench is used more.
Summary: This won't replace standard sockets when I'm doing serious work on the car and have access to my full set. The reason is lack of retention. However, due to replacing multiple types of sockets, it will get heavy using in my portable box in my truck. I would find it hard not to recommend this for the first socket set or an additional one, because the extra utility balances out some of the short comings.
