I always have owned just a regular toolbox however recently I inherited a number of tools and began looking at chests. The prices were way over my budget and just when I was going to buy a 4 drawer craftsman I came across this Husky. This is an unbelievable deal at $29.99 and serves as an actual tool chest rather than a tool box for me. I was so satisfied that I bought one for my basement workbench and one for the garage. Now I can easily access my tools in an orderly fashion rather than digging through a toolbox. The sliding drawers even have wheel bearings and they easily lock once the chest is secured. This deal is at least $40.00 cheaper than competitors and has enough amenities that I would not even consider a named brand. In fact I bought 2 of these for the price of one at Sears. Don't be fooled by the low price this is a quality tool chest that I highly recommend! It has 3 drawers and a top that opens with a retractable compartment.

You definitely get what you pay for. For $30, you get a nice-sized, light-weight storage box. For the same $30, you get a storage box with very thin, flimsy, weak, metal construction. So thin, in fact, that the drawers bend as you slide them in and out of the box. Mine came with a dent and a crease in the side of the lid (and had some missing paint). Shouldn't the lid be stronger than the rest of the box?
This box would be okay for a hobbyist or someone who does crafts, but NOT for someone who wants to actually use it as a =tool= box. If it were constructed better and wasn't damaged, I would have kept it, but it had to go back to the store.

I use this as my primary box at work-bicycle mechanic- and it provides enough security so that other people will not be "tempted" to borrow and not return tools. Strong construction and drawers glide like butter!

This is an outstanding toolbox for the price, which today was $30. It's well built, and the ball bearing drawers slide very nicely. As long as you push them all the way in past the detent, they lock when the lid is down. Sears has similar but inferior toolboxes that don't come anywhere close to this on value. My only complaint (and it's minor) is that sometimes you have to push on both ends of the drawers to get both ends past the detent so the top lid can lock them.
I also bought a $6 roll of cushioned shelf liner from the cabinet section of the store and was able to cut drawer liners for all 5 compartments in this box.

I bought this tool box when it was on sale for $30.00. I needed something durable, that would last a while and hold some weight as I'm a mechanic. this tool box is very well constructed, not cheaply made like other more expensive boxes. I have absolutely no complaints.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RayMike This is a great little tool box!!!!
Considering the purchase price, ($39.97), this is a great value compared to other tool boxes costing twice as much. I purchased this at the local Home Depot, and it came out of the box with no marks or defects at all. This tool box is quite heavy, and I like that the drawers can be locked in the closed position when transporting it. There is a large center hasp for locking with a padlock if desired. This is my second Husky tool box, the first one is still going strong after 20 years! I had to buy this one for all the tools I acquired since then. If I had one complaint, it would be that the smaller compartment built into the top compartment is not removable, and the storage area under it is smaller because of this. Would be nice to have the option to remove it or leave in place.

Right now, I give it five stars. One of the only metal portable tool boxes with pull out trays. The trays stay shut and lock (in the back) when the top lids closes. I didn't realize this when I purchased it, but found out. That was a nice surprise! It's a good, solid inexpensive buy.
