Answer:
this cart is designed for shop use and home garage use. You know cement floors. The wheels themselves probably would not hurt the floor, it is the weight that carry can cause them to damage soft floors. If you are planning on using any cart on vinyl wood flooring I definitely recommend contacting the mfg who may possibly make a cart with wheels designed for that surface.

Answer:
Shouldn't as long as wheels and floor are clean. The wheels are medium hard black rubber. The weight load would be the biggest factor for scuffing up your floors.

NO-the wheels are made of heavy duty neoprene and as long as the bearings are greased they should be no problems.

What Kind Of Metal Is This Made From?

Heat resistance, carbon content, any kind of galvanizing, can it be welded to, how thick is it? If one were motivated to convert this into a coal forge, would it burn out, or withstand the extreme temperatures?

Answer:
I do own this particular item but I have worked in places that do. It is mild steel, probably around .06%C, with no galvanize. It is very definitely weldable, The answer to the last part is NO. I would not recommend it for a small BBQ let alone a coal forge.

31 in. Steel Utility Cart (2-Tray) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 75.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice product, not super strong. Good price I bought this for my car detailing products. It works well for this purpose, but would like it to be a bit more solid. There's some flexibility in the frame. The bolts that hold the wheels protrude through the bottom so it's not completely flat. Bolts also protrude through the side supports, so items occasionally catch on the bolts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sturdy cart Cart is very sturdy and relatively easy to put together. It is helpful to have a second person for part of the assembly especially setting up the wheels. My only complaint is that it really needs to have lockwashers. I ended up using my own lockwashers to keep the nuts and bolts. I have other carts exactly the same and the nuts and bolts will vibrate off unless you use lockwashers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Wheel Selection The cart is fine except for one problem. All four wheels swivel, making directional control difficult if not impossible when traversing a slope. Why not design this cart like the billions of shopping carts with non-swivel wheels in the rear?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Industrial style bar cart! The cart was very easy to assemble with wrench and screw driver. We simply put floor underlayment on each shelf and have made it into a bar cart for our apartment. Love the look and it is very mobile if we need to rearrange with guests over!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from descent cart for the price I assembled the cart last night. Total assembly wasn't difficult, but I would recommend sockets, box wrenches and a phillips-head screw driver over their recommended tools. As stated in other reviews, the holes the bolts go through are too large. The bolts themselves are sufficient. Because the holes are so large, the cart isn't as stable as it could be. Also, since all four wheels turn independently, the cart isn't as easy to move as it would if the back two were fixed. One other feature I would have liked to see would have been the ability to mount the top shelf upside-down. I plan to use it as a mobile workbench and mount for a drill press. Overall, for the price, the cart will do exactly what I need it to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong well built utility cart at a good price. I was looking for a small utility cart for some heavy electronic test equipment, and was going to buy a slightly larger RM HD plastic cart, at nearly $190 + shipping. On a whim I thought I'd checkout Home Depot and they had this great little cart in my local store for about $50. Bolted it together in about 10 mins and now I have a very strong test equipment cart for my workshop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good garage cart Easy to assemble. Easy to use. Only problem I have is with the wheel locks. Two of the wheels have locks but the cart still slides around with little effort. I would prefer it not to move at all but that's just me.
