This is a pretty nice shelving unit for the price. I just assembled two of them over the weekend to use in my garage. One of the two boxes was missing the protective plastic post caps that go on the top of each beam, but this part is not essential. (Now if any OTHER part had been missing, this would be a very different review!)
One installation tip: a hammer by itself is not really sufficient to put these shelves together because some of the parts require a healthy amount of whacking to go together. To avoid the metal-on-metal banging (and possibly bending the parts), I used a poor-man's mallet: a piece of scrap two-by-four wood placed over each part to buffer the hammer blows.

Very poor manufacturing of the side couplers. These shelves actually turned out well for me, but only because i had several additional tools on hand. Without a file, pliers, and a small steel mallet, i wouldn't have been able to assemble them at all. The couplers don't fit the side rails. This is a great product for somebody who is willing to cut/grind/file/bend the steel to fit.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by gcalt Assembly more difficult than expected
Complete instructions were not included. I had to request a copy through the Home Depot online chat. They were able to provide a link to the instructions, which I downloaded.
We found the assembly to be more challenging than expected based on reviews by others. The posts and couplers don't fit together easily. We've assembled many storage/furniture pieces from other manufacturers and had much less trouble. Definitely required 2 people and a lot of patience. Once the posts and couplers are together, the rest was more straightforward. A video demo would have been helpful; I searched but wasn't able to find one.
We do like the option of being able to install the shelves with a rail facing up to keep items contained.
The shelf units themselves seem adequate for our purpose, which is storage in the garage. However, given a choice, I would not purchase them again based on difficulty of assembly, and the lack of included instructions. I think there are equivalent products available that are easier to put together, which is important to us.

Either a faulty set of couplers or a poor design but the end result was *returned*. Still need to figure something else out for our garage.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by scooterpdx Impossible to assemble properly using the instructions and provided parts
So the manufacturer has you install the bottom two shelves, then use the provided couplers to add the second half of the shelving unit. The Instructions (which seem to be a bad photocopy) have you put the coupler on the bottom posts, then tap the top posts into the couplers. Great idea, except when you try to tap the top posts into the couplers, you just end up pushing the couplers farther down the bottom post. Now try to get them back up! Also, the plastic foot posts do not fit tightly so every time you move it, you have to put them back on. Did the manufacturer do any assembly testing on this thing?

I like these shelves, which I've used in a storage unit and in my garage. They're easy to assemble but still very sturdy. The heavy-duty "wire" shelves are a plus--no particle-board, faux-wood or other junk. This smaller model is easier to deal with than the 5-shelf 48x24x72 model sold in stores; two of these costs a little more than one of those, but with these you get more flexibility with where they'll fit and how to place them. One note about shipping: some of the side rails were fairly scratched up on arrival, I assume due to the way the manufacturer packages these. 'Not much Home Depot can do about that, I guess. I don't mind, since they're going in the garage. Even without scratches, they're obviously more utilitarian than decorative.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by diego Solid shelves for an average garage! Good value!
Let's face it, unless your hobby involves collecting giant marble rocks what you need is a solid shelf, that is solid and stable, easy to assemble and easy to navigate to find your stuff. If that is what you are looking for this is it.
Husky shelf is all made of metal (no wood or plastic parts) hence it can bear important weight. Again, is not too fancy, but is very good and the value works as well.
I definitely recommend it.
