Customer Reviews

4 in. Soft Grip Wall Paper Stripper is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work for long I bought this to scrape wallpaper and the quick change blade feature seemed like a great idea. It does make for a quick blade change, but it seems to add a weak point in the tool. This scraper worked great for a very short time before the blade holder fell apart. There is a small metal clip that helps the blade holder stay together and it seems to be put under alot of stress during scraping. I got a second one because I got some good results before breaking. The second one broke in the same exact place as before after using it for an hour. The package says it can be used to scrape resilient tile too, but I don't see that happening.

We used this in combination with a heat gun to scrape up old mastic on a basement floor. Worked like a charm. As someone else said, you need to make sure that the sharp end of the blade is facing out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Two tools, two broken handles This scrapper worked pretty well to remove painted over wall paper. Unfortunately the handle broke at base after only doing a half a half wall. I returned it and got another one, only to have the same thing happen. If you like stripping wall paper off using a finger tip grip, then I highly recommend. Otherwise, don't bother.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very very sharp I'm guessing other reviewers did not actually turn the blade around before they used it for the first time. It is incredibly sharp and easy to nick yourself with it. I bought it originally to scrape wallpaper but its been a great tool for scraping linoleum and vinyl flooring.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This thing is such garbage! Today the handle just broke on my second one. We've been scraping the texture off a wall and I was so happy after finding this tool at Home Depot. Prior to having this we were using what was, more or less, just a metal putty knife. But finding this scraper with a razor blade made the job 10 times faster, at least! Alas, the happiness was not to last. The first one broke after about a day of work and I exchanged it for the same tool. I was willing to give a benefit of the doubt for that one, but today the replacement tool just broke in the exact same place- the neck where the scraper part connects to the handle. I'm going to take it back and hope to get store credit as I certainly don't want another of these. I ordered a similar tool from another store and I hope that it's better quality than this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not sharp A flexible putty knife is sharper than this blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! It says paper stripper but we've used this scrapper to take up vinyl from our first floor kitchen and bathroom. Could not have found a better tool. It took up the dry glue very easily. My fiancé is using it now to chip away at a glue/cement mixture and it has held up to the mixture and the abuse by the mallet. We started the project with one scrapper and now have two. The blades are easy to replace and secure in the handle. We also started the projected with heavy duty putty knives but those bent or didn't get the glue up. Well worth the price!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk blade held in w/ 3 screws, not really long enough to engage threads well. 2 out of 3 are stripped. Husky strikes again. Stay away.
