Customer Reviews

5 ft. 1720 Lumen Led Work Light with Tripod is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect I finally got tired of the burn hazard of my halogen, and tired of replacing bulbs. Generally I'm happy with the Husky LED. Pros: strong directional light - more than the stated 100w equivalent -easily detachable from tall stand - cool running- no burn or fire hazard - hopefully longer life & not as fragile as a halogen Cons: the height adjust knob barely holds the weight of the light - really quite expensive - the box says 3 year warranty but the manual says that BURNT OUT BULBS are NOT covered ? ? What remains is a warranty on a light duty stand. Hopefully Home Depot customer service will apply their good judgement should a light fail that was NOT abused or dropped. I will continue to use and enjoy the light with the hope that the 'Depot will stand behind it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Should be 5 stars Bought this light a few days ago and it works great. It puts out a lot of light, but does not get hot. Great indoors when you don't want a halogen room heater. I had to rate it 4 stars because there were two screws missing from the package and I had to drive back to the store to get them. The guy in hardware figured out the size and gave me the screws. The store handled it well. Just in case you have the same problem the screws are 10-32x3/4 pan head. I highly recommend this light. In the attached photo I was working in a closet. Two 100 watt lights were on in the room, but it looks dark compared to where the light is shining.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light, not good Quality Control This light is great...Doesn't get hot at all yet plenty bright. The problem is the same as another reviewer stated: The screws were missing and I had to drive back to the store. Insult to injury when paying high dollar for a light that I have to waste gas and time to go back to the store for a couple screws. I watched the HD employee pull the light out of a 2-pack box from the factory, so it was not a returned item. Just poor QC. I'm using these lights for video lights and they have a great balance...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS LED LIGHT ROCKS! I love this LED light! Since I'm the one who puts together all the furniture pieces, and other stuff, in our house, I need a good, strong light that will cover the entire living-room floor, (as that is where I take all the parts out of whatever package and assemble them-- using my canvas painter's tarp underneath everything, of course, *lol*). On Dec 5-2013, (as late afternoon melted into evening), I was having great difficulty seeing all the parts, along with the assembly, of the piece I was putting together. So, my husband went to Home Depot and got a HALOGEN table-top lamp for me. And let me tell you... it was horrible... just utterly blinding! Plus, it got hot! As well, it became quite obvious that I needed a light that stood tall. So, back to the store my husband went, wherein he exchanged, (much to my surprise), the halogen for this LED TRIPOD lamp, (we'd always used a halogen before, but, it broke after umpteen years and needed to be replaced anyway). I was skeptical about this LED-business, but, put it together in two minutes and am happy to report that it's a PERFECT lamp! I was back at the job I had gotten it for, (putting together a television stand with electric fireplace... a HUGE undertaking!), and oh-so-happy with the very BRIGHT, but not blinding, light it provided. Quite frankly, I don't know what all the complaints are about this LED TRIPOD LIGHT---> >>> It's oh-so-BRIGHT, without being blinding like the halogen. >>> The tripod is absolutely STURDY... but, obviously, if you're going to walk into it you're gonna knock it over... that's not the lamp's fault! I don't find it to be top-heavy at all... it's nicely balanced. >>> It DOESN'T GET HOT at all... you don't have to be afraid to touch/adjust it, or move the lamp around, to fit your needs while you're working; unlike a halogen that is dangerously hot! Yeah, it's expensive, (the only gripe I have about it), BUT IT IS worth every penny. It was made to last, (and WILL last), for years to come. So, a good VALUE in the long-run. I'll NEVER, EVER use a halogen again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE HOW BRIGHT THESE ARE!!!!! I bought one on Monday, took it home, put it together (VERY easy to do! 2 screws attach the base, and a knob to hold it onto the stand.) and turned it on.... HOLY COW!!!!! These things are BRIGHT!!! So I bought another one! Living in Seattle, along with working long shifts, I just don't get a lot of time to enjoy what little sun we get, so these will more than make up for that, when I want to work on projects in the carport. True, the stands are a little light weight, but they have a wide stance and seem stable enough. And I like the fact that you can easily take them off the tall stand and set it on the ground.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bright Light - Tripod feels Cheap I bought this yesterday so I had lighting to see what I was doing replacing a faucet and under sink spigots. Unboxing: All the parts were present, the light was packaged well. The head unit comes out of the box without the leg stand. Two screws hold that in place. Right away the tripod feels very flimsy and not of good quality. The material is very light weight. It feels like any accidental force applied in a workplace setting would cause this to fold and the plastic pieces to break. The power cord could be a few feet longer. Not a big deal - most of the time it's attached to an extension cord. On a side note, the power consumption of the light is lower, which means you can add more lights to a run and longer extension cords of a smaller size to the unit without the risk of overloading a circuit. The light head itself is nice. The light is bright and there is very little heat. The traditional 100W+ halogen bulbs blister flesh after a short time. This light filled the room with light. It ran for about two to three hours with little heat at all. The back heat shield only felt warm to the touch. The relative heat of this light is a great safety feature when working in an area with pets and / or kids. I looked at the smaller stand alone smaller light. It does not put out nearly as much light and did not have a tripod. I would have been happier spending a little less with no tripod for this light. I may just use the heavier tripod from my old halogen light and call it good. I would recommend this light for the brightness and lightweight of the light head unit itself. If you are going to rely on the tripod for use, use with caution and protection. I does not feel or look like it can handle being thrown in the back of a work truck and survive.
