Answer:
Indeed it can. Just break it down and move. You might want to use a rubber mallet/dead blow hammer to get the shelving loose from the uprights if its been there awhile. But should come apart fairly easy. Just remember to gather the clips if you went two high and put them in a place you will remember.

Answer:
Yes, would not be a problem to take it apart and set it up again someplace else. The only thing you really need to take it apart/put it together is a rubber mallet.

Answer:
Yes it can be taken apart as it is just the reverse of the assembly and just as easy. You would need to take a rubber mallet to release the pins from the vertical structure. I would advise 2 people would make the task easiest.

Yes. It's a little less work to knock it apart than it is to assemble it. The "shelves" (aka wire grids) just lift out.

Answer:
The end posts should have the support from the bottom shelf placed so that only one mounting hole is below that bottom shelf. The posts could easily be damaged by a bump of any extended lenght at the bottom.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 145 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad The packing was poor. The box was open along some edges Missing several major pieces and you can bend the metal with your fingers. Buy something else. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Storage shelf Easy to assemble even by one person. Instructions are not very clear on shelf placement and options to modify spacing of shelves. September 6, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by missing parts could not assemble Product received missing parts could not assemble. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Quality The only problem I had was delivery. The first one arrived with the box torn up and pieces missing, so I returned it to the store, where they gave me a full refund and a 10% discount on the reorder. The second one arrived pretty banged up too (the box is very heavy and awkwardly large, so it's not surprising). All the parts were there, but a couple of them were dinged up. I decided to try to assemble it anyway, and it turned out great - the dings didn't affect the assembly and didn't show in the end. The shelf is sturdy and fits in my storage room perfectly. I assembled it by myself, but It would be much easier to have two people because of the size of the pieces. June 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Some Scratches on the Frame Some scratch on the frame when I opened the box. It was hard to assemble. July 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good product, terrible packaging The packaging was a mess and had been all taped up by the home depot staff since it had obviously busted open. The small plastic feet and tops were completely missing, although I'm not clear that they added much value unless you're putting it on a nice wooden floor (which would be odd because this is definitely a garage/basement aesthetic.) Meanwhile there were a number of extra horizontal and vertical supports, perhaps for the alternative horizontal assembly? The other major problem was that there were two sets of directions, but both only in French. Fortunately it's fairly self-explanatory from the picture of the assembled unit on the box. It took about an hour to assemble, and appears to be a good sturdy product. It didn't include self-leveling feet so we had to use small wood blocks to accommodate our non-level basement floor. I had been worried about the box size, but it fit no problem in our honda civic with the back seats folded down. June 27, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor design The shelving unit goes together easy but once I started filling the shelves the horizontal supports started to bow out. I added 1 X 6 lumber to reinforce the weakened shelves. Although these units are rated for 5,000 pounds I don't think that I would dare exceed 1,000 and that would only be if I was careful to distribute the weight evenly. June 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good I bought two of these for the garage. Both of them were used. Im assuming someone purchased them before, returned them and those were delivered to me. Both boxes had the instructions broken into pieces. Luckily, it was very easy to put together. In one box, we had a few missing pieces. We had to pack it in the car and exchange it in a home depot. I checked before I left the house if there were any in stock close to me and there was. I exchanged it quickly for a new one. HUGE difference when its new. I highly recommend having a rubber mallet to put this together. It makes building it so much easier. Other than those small issues, i recommend them. Easy to put together and seems very comfortable and stable to store. May 31, 2016
