CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great addition to my truck I've had the box for about a month now and I'm happy to report no real issues with the box. I've had my truck washed several times and no leaks. The box is very simple to install with the supplied J-Bolts, easy to lift and use. My concerns are with the foam interior causing the top of the lid to appear a bit wobbly as if the foam is loosening underneath. I'm planning on adding some padlocks for extra security but don't want to ruin the looks of the box. Overall, the box works and looks great, definitely a great value. Maybe Husky can produce a black version for the 62 inch box. August 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Box I've Owned! Installed on a 2005 Ford Ranger: I bought the 62" box which has an inner dimension of 54", my Ranger Truck bed is 54", this box fits so tightly in my truck that I actually had to cut away a portion of my bed liner to get it to fit. If you have a bed liner in your Ford Ranger, you will have to do the same or get the 60" box instead of the 62" which has an inner measurement of 52". Personally, I like the snug look. I am not a construction worker or anyone that works out of the back of his truck, but I am a do-it-yourselfer and needed someplace to keep my “manly-man” tools dry and easy to get to . This box is exactly like the Husky truck box video shows. It is strong, light weight, weather proof, good looking, easy to install, and very well thought out when it comes to the locking handles. As another reviewer already reported, if you leave one handle unlocked a person can gain access from the unlocked side, but this is a good thing as you don't have to walk around your truck to unlock the other side to open the box. Of course another way to look at is that a person would only have to pop one of the locks to break into it, but for where I live, I prefer the convenience over the extra security. Overall, I would challenge anyone to find a better box for the money. January 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this box! First of all, this thing looks great in the back of my truck. I just wish the rest of my truck looked as good as this box does! And it was so easy to install it. Being made of aluminum it’s so light that when it was delivered the driver just picked it up, set it on his shoulder and carried it back to my workshop like it was nothing. And it was still in its shipping box too! I blew out my lower back several years ago and even with my bad back I had no problem at all getting it mounted on my pickup's box behind the cab. Installing it is very easy. But I couldn't use the instructions that came with mine. They were for a different box that had holes in the back of it and you need to drill two holes in the end of your pickup bed and have them line up with the holes in the box. Then bolt the box in place using those holes. My box came with a couple small J bolts about 2" long (instead of the bigger strait bolts in the instructions) that you insert through a slot at the end of the box and hook the J under the edge of the bed rails then put a washer and nut on it inside the tool box. They will keep the box from sliding around on the bed rails but in a accident I doubt they would keep the tool box in the truck. Especially if the truck was rolled. The lid has two locking handles on it. To lock the lid down BOTH handles have to be locked with the key. If only one handle is locked you can still use the other handle to open the lid. One thing that worried me was getting one the right size. It says that its 62" inches but it doesn't say that the 62" is its total length, or the width of the truck box that it’s made to fit in. My truck is a 1992 Dodge Dakota 4x4 sport. The box is just a little over 57" wide inside the bed rails. The tool box is actually 62" long overall. Below the little step with the lid its 54" wide. So it will fit a pickup bed 3" smaller than my Dodge Dakota. I could have got one a little bigger but I wasn't sure about what size pickup bed the different sized tool boxes will fit. There's not enough information on the size of them. I’ve included a few photo’s and one of them has the dimensions shown on it. There’s one thing I don’t understand about it though. It looks like something was missed getting welded in the box and wasn’t caught until just before it shipped out. Inside it at each end there has been a piece welded across the width of the step part. It looks like it might be intended to be a brace to strengthen it. Or it could be to use the ends as small storage spaces for small tools to be in easy reach. But if that’s what they are for they are a little short and not placed very well. The arms that hold the lid up also look as though they were welded on as an afterthought. The black soot from the welding hasn’t even been wiped off and the welds haven’t been buffed like the rest of the welds in the box have been. You can see the black around the welds in one of the photos I’ve uploaded. I think there’s one thing missing from this tool box too. All the truck tool boxes I’ve seen like this have a tray inside that slides back and forth on the two steps along the length of the box. This is for smaller tools and items that you don’t want down in the bottom with the bigger things. I don’t know if they just forgot to put one in this box or if they just don’t have one for it. Maybe they took it out while welding in the forgotten pieces and then forgot to put it back in the box. Either way I’m going to have to either find one or make my own for it because I can’t have my smaller hand tools sliding around down in the bottom of the box. Overall this is one very nice tool box. The welds are nice and even and the lid fits nice and tight with a rubber seal that should keep the box water tight. I was a machinist for over 20 years and made parts for thousands of different things and for all sorts of different industries. So I’m very familiar with manufacturing of items like this tool box and I can say that it has been well made and should last a lot longer than my truck will, and probably out last my next truck as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by Well Constructed, Excellent value, Looks Sharp Too! This is my second HUSKY truck toolbox. The first one was 13 years old, and both the toolbox and the truck it was mounted on were passed along to my son, with plenty of serviceable life ahead (both the truck AND the toolbox). I shopped around to see what was new, and the comparisons were really no comparison. This Husky crossover toolbox is well designed and constructed, lightweight but with a good solid feel. The locking handles on either side are convenient, and the 'J' hooks make for easy installation. March 18, 2014
