If I order online how will this wrench be shaped? It appears there are two different shapes for wrenches.

These two pictures are from home depot's website. This 30 mm wrench can be purchased separate or in a set, but I'm wondering if I buy it online if it will be the same shape as the individual one or the one pictured in the set. My local store has them in the set and individual and they are both the same shape, the one where it gets wider right up close to the open end of the wrench. One the website though it shows the individual wrench with straight sides right up to the end. I just want to know why there are two different shapes and mostly which one I will get if I order online. I'm considering buying basically one of every wrench husky makes, but I want to them to all be the same shape/style. Thank you
Asked by: Jacob
The closed end of the wrench is only mildly angled. If you need a wrench that will fit down inside of something like a pulley, it won't work for you.

what is the thickness of the open-end portion of the wrench?

I need an 11/16" open-end wrench that is thin enough to fit between the body and chuck of a Milwaukee hammer drill. It cannot be thicker than 1/4" otherwise it won't hold.
Asked by: chuckyblue
Chucky, The head thickness on this wrench is 3/8 in. We do not make a thin pattern wrench that would fit your needs.

7/8 in. 12-Point SAE Full Polish Combination Wrench is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 123.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice quality combo wrench Hand tools vary by quality of metal, finish and workmanship. If you've ever used a cheap wrench, you know how bad it feels. I am the proud owner of a set of Husky combination wrenches. Here's my analysis of the wrenches: 1. The feel in the hand is good. No sharp edges and nicely weighted. 2. The finish is good quality. Chrome plating is nice and heavy. 3. The wrench was machined well. The edges are crisp, but they're smooth at the corner. 4. The box is a 12 point. A 21 mm is a 21 mm. Precise. 5. The open end is big and solid. Maybe a little too big - hinders work in tight spots. 6. The size stamping is a little rough, but this is being picky. Overall, I'm very happy with my new set of wrenches. They not only feel and look good, but they are great to work with and they clean up easliy. Five stars - I highly recommend these wrenches.

This is a 10mm wrench, but the machining is inferior; the fit on 10mm nuts and bolt heads is loose as compared to other 10mm wrenches I've used (especially the open end of the wrench). It mic's at 10.05 mm.

These wrenches are loose, the open end spreads, and the casting on the box end is not centered or straight. They will work in a pinch but they are among the worst wrenches you can currently buy, besides the nice finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice set of wrenches I have become a fan of husky wrenches! I grew up on a traditional brand of wrenches. I have to say although these are foreign made, they are of much better quality than I expected. I can double-up on these wrenches on 1/2" and 3/4" fasteners without too much deflection. The wrenches arrived in perfect shape, and were individually bagged. They have a pristine chrome finish, I will no doubt destroy with time. The fit, on fasteners was very good on both ends. I look forward too it. I did do some torture testing on these, and I'm very happy with them. I'd certainly recommend them, since they perform excellent for the retail price. They so look great as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Set This is a big set of wrenches. There are some sizes that I don't think I have every used before. If you want a set that has every size possible whether it be SAE or Metric, this set has it. The wrenches are very well made and will last for many years to come. My only real concern is the guys on my crew have already latched on to them. If I loose any I know I can find them in their tool box. The set was so big if took more than one drawer in my Roll a round tool box to fit them all. Had to put SAE in one drawer and the Metric in another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tools You Can Get for your Money Once upon a time you had to go to a local tool truck to get quality tools but it was pricey proposition for the home do it your selfer or back yard mechanic. Now you can go to your local home depot and get quality tools at a reasonable price with the comfort that they are guaranteed for life. The quality of husky tools is well above the rest, feel solid and high quality in your hands. The tools have a high quality finish, look great, and have a good feel in your hands when being used. Very happy with the Husky ratcheting wrenches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just as good So I had a set of a different brand, and was given the opportunity to use these. These work just as good as the others, but actually feel better in the hand. They don't feel cheap, or like you are going to break it. They are a little heavier than the others, but that isn't something you would really notice unless you were holding both wrenches at the same time. I replaced my entire set of wrenches with these, and moved the others out to the tool box in the shed as a back up set.

However, the reason that I bought this wrench was to adjust a cambered pulley on my engine. It is a 30 mm wrench which is a HUGE wrench, in between an 1 1/8 inch and 1 1/4 inch. It didn't work like I was hoping. The big nut is recessed into to the pulley too much. For this wrench to work like I needed, the head would have had to be more offset so that it would fit deeper into the pulley.
