Product was delivered in great shape, packaging was solid and protective. Very lightweight box because it is aluminum, two of us just lifted it right into the back of the truck. I love that there are handles on both sides of the box, so you can open it from either side of the truck. Our old box only had a knob on the drivers side. Also really like the design and style of the handles, they are very easy to grab and open, unlike some of the old style turn knobs. Was easy to center in the bed opening, there are pre-drilled slots inside the box for using the included mounting hardware to mount it to your bed rails. We are going to drill extra holes in the corners, because one single screw on each side doesn't seem like enough. The only think missing that you usually expect to come with a box is the top sliding tray. There should probably be a note with this product that a tray is NOT included. It does come with two keys, so you can keep one on your key ring and one somewhere else as a backup.
Overall seems like it is a very sturdy, good looking box that will last for years. Now to fill it with cordless tools!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by rahgerr Nice box overall
Only problem is getting the key in far enough to unlock. Same problem with either key on either side. Maybe it can be fixed? What can be done Home Depot?

I bought this box for my new Dodge Ram because I wanted a rugged, low profile box. The box really looks great.
I stood on the middle of the box once I had it mounted to see whether the advertisements held up. They did-and I'm a pretty big guy.
The box mounts with extreme ease. I installed it in the parking lot of the store. It fit perfectly.
My only problem with the box is that the J-bolts that mount it to the bed are very flimsy. The "mounting hardware" consists of the two 1/4" J-bolts, two fender washers and two 1/4" nuts. I added a second fender washer, a lock washer and a 1/4" Nylok nut on each side and that appears to have solved the problem. The box is now mounted very securely.
I'd highly recommend this box. I'd just suggest you add white lube to all the moving parts and hinges and pick up the extra hardware to supplement the mounting bolts. I'm definitely pleased with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Pianomaster Best in the price range.
Couple years ago, I had a worn out toolbox that was broken into and eventually stolen completely. I waited and researched all the boxes out there: Delta, Delta Champion, Delta Pro, Tradesman (Lund), Better Built, TSC, UWS, Weatherguard, Protech, Highway Products, Westin HD, Taylor Wings, Camlocker, etc. All are built differently and priced across the range.
Highway Products and Protech make the best boxes in the world with Weatherguard and Taylor Wings tied for third. But these sell for $700-1300! No thanks. I liked the idea of a rotary latch and layered lid so that eliminated anything with a hook latch and all beginner boxes. I was never going to store anything valuable in it again anyway so I veered more toward the look / design and price point. This brought me down to Delta Champion, Better Built SEC and this HUSKY.
After scouring a local shop that sold several brands, I noticed the Delta Champion has better features: sliding tray, adjustable hoop for the rotary latch, reinforced corners, and squishier foam. But the lid seemed less rigid and the paddle handles were uncomfortable. The low-pro Delta Champion sells for $350. Nobody locally sold the SEC box so I eliminated both.
Next I was determined to learn as much as I could about the new HUSKY. As you may know, these are coming from a new supplier and have a new logo. Old Husky boxes came from either Tradesman or Ultima and looked terribly cheap. I believe that my research has concluded that the new HUSKY comes from UWS aka United Welding Service out of FL. They have the exact same specs and pictures on UWS website. This was good news as UWS has great reviews but they used to come only with a hook latch (easily pried). Their new boxes have the same pull handle rotary latch found on these HUSKYS but these are about $200 less than a UWS box. Home Depot.com also lists several UWS boxes for sale.
Thus I purchased and installed the new HUSKY low-pro box in bright AL. Some observations:
-The "industrial aluminum" doesn't seem any thicker than the Delta. If you want to see real industrial AL look up Protech or Highway Products as they are the only companies to use 1/8" marine grade stock.
-Black welds on the inside, some scuffing on the outside. The screw driver holder and rod guard are not welded completely and should be as to add strength.
-I used different u-bolts that are much thicker and stronger in addition to the two that come with. I drilled new holes and put one u-bolt in each corner (instead of one in the middle).
-The lid closes perfect and the latches work as they should. I tested every time I tightened a bolt.
-The look is pretty close to what I wanted. I preferred the even lower profile of the Delta Champion but wasn't going to spend another $100 for that.
-No idea if it is weatherproof or theft resistant but the bulb seal is better that many boxes in this price range.
-The size and length fits my 99 Dodge Ram perfectly.
-I lubed the locks and latches and worked them several times to avoid future problems.
-I like the 3 year warranty which is better than many brands.
I expect it will not survive a serious thief so I will not store anything but junk and some safety items. We shall see.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars-- it is as advertised and seems to be well-constructed for its intended use.
Average quality: This box is not a serious tool box but an everyman's box for his half ton truck. It is not a professional grade box. I can easily push the front in and pry on the lid with my hands. Like I wrote previously, it is better than some, but not nearly as professional as other brands. If I were in construction, I would spend the money on a HPI, Protech, or Weatherguard steel.
Value: Excellent-- for what you get, it is a great deal. Don't shop anywhere else unless you need to store valuables.
Hope this helps your buying process and happy shopping!
